Edited by: TJVNews.com

On July 19, 2022, the picturesque Clove Lakes Park in the Sunnyside section of Staten Island, came alive with vibrant colors and a spirit of unity as the highly respected and esteemed Patrol Borough Staten Island (PBSI), led by the venerable NYPD Staten Island Borough Commander Chief Joseph Gulotta, hosted the enthralling Harmony Day 2022. Mendy Mirocznik, president of the Staten Island Council of Jewish Organizations (COJO), and Ari Weiss, COJO Security Chairman and Coordinator of Staten Island Shomrim, represented COJO at the event

The essence of family-friendly fun and camaraderie filled the air, as hundreds of Staten Islanders joined New York’s finest as they gathered to partake in the festivities, celebrating Harmony Day as a day of togetherness and fellowship.

Chief Gulotta, expressed with great enthusiasm, “Harmony Day was instituted by PBSI with the sole purpose of bringing together the diverse communities of Staten Island alongside the NYPD for a delightful summer festival. We are delighted to have once again witnessed the splendor and joy of Harmony Day, as Staten Island came alive in unity.”

Chief  Gulotta emphazised that, “[t]he return of many familiar faces to Harmony Day was heartwarming. Staten Island’s civic community, with organizations such as COJO and its remarkable leadership team, Mendy Mirocznik and Ari Weiss, showed their strong presence. These connections are vital as they strengthen the NYPD’s ties with the community they serve. When communities unite and celebrate during the Harmony Day festivities, we build lasting relationships filled with cherished memories. It is through the efforts of such civic and community leaders and their important organizations that we find strength and resilience to overcome challenges that our borough may face.”

Mendy Mirocznik, stated, “In a world that often leaves us bewildered and overwhelmed, our united community needed this day to focus on what truly matters – the celebration of life, family, friends, and community. Today’s festivities have allowed us to reflect on the positive aspects of life, understand our progress, and realize that together, we possess the strength to conquer any adversity that life throws our way. I pray that the world learns from this experience, focusing on friendship and respect, and that the joy, gratitude, and appreciation we shared today will form the foundation for making this world a better place for everyone. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Chief Gulotta for being the unifying force that brought together the diverse communities of Staten Island to celebrate life and optimism. COJO eagerly looks forward to our continued partnership and collaborations with Chief Gulotta and the NYPD, as we strive to spread healing, joy, and happiness to all residents of Staten Island.”
