By Jared Evan- The SALT event, one of the premier hedge fund industry conferences, kicked off Sunday at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, rather than the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas where organizers hosted the event 10 times before, Reuters reported.
The event is hosted by hedge fund executive and former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, will be a little different this year.
The NY Daily News reported that Democratic Mayoral nominee Eric Adams appeared at the event.
“New York will no longer be anti-business,” Adams declared at SALT “This is going to be a place where we welcome business.”
He said he would clean up crime, battle homelessness, hack into the city’s affordability problem, and partner hand-in-glove with the business community, Daily News summarized
“But we expect something in return, folks,” he told hundreds of people as he spoke from the event’s main stage. “We want to ask you to offer your jobs to New Yorkers. Right now, there are hundreds of thousands of people out of work in New York. And there are hundreds of thousands of jobs that you have that we can fill.”
