Bar Mitzvah Boy, Shua Katz & Family Hold Special Barbeque for Over 200 IDF Soldiers to Show Appreciation

Bar mitzvah boy, Shua Katz, decided to share his special simcha in Israel with 200 IDF soldiers in a gesture of solidarity, love and appreciation for all they do for Eretz Yisroel, especially during these often challenging times of war.
In a statement, Shua Katz, 13 said, “Like most families who come to Israel to make a bar mitzvah, they enjoy a lovely celebration at the Kotel in Jerusalem. In honor of my bar mitzvah and in addition to the ceremony at the Kotel, I wanted to do something extra special because of the ongoing war in Israel. As such, convinced my parents, Many and Devorah Katz from New Haven, Connecticut to make a barbeque for the IDF soldiers defending An Yisrael. Through some connections, my parents were able to find a catering company to barbeque for over 200 soldiers at a base near the border with Gaza. We were able to bring joy and appreciation to the ones defending our border. The party was lots of fun and the soldiers even danced with me. To share my joy with them and see their appreciation was uplifting to all.”
Since the outbreak of war in Israel on October 7th, a spirit of unity, love and a return to Hashem has taken place all over Israel and for Jews around the world. Many people traveling to Israel to celebrate a wedding, bar mitzvah, brit milah are now inviting IDF soldiers to join them. Moreover, volunteers from the four corners of the globe are also flocking to Israel to aid in the war efforts and to assist in lifting morale in these otherwise trying times.
Showing gratitude and appreciation to the incredibly brave soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces who are fighting for our existential survival in Gaza has become our number one priority.
