(TJV) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee, Nejwa Ali, who has maintained ties with Islamic groups, is currently on administrative leave after expressing support for Islamic attackers on social media. Ali, who served as a spokeswoman for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 2016 and 2017, later joined DHS in 2019 as an adjudication officer for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Despite her controversial posts, including celebrating the October 7th pogrom in Israel and making anti-Israel remarks, the Biden administration has not terminated her employment.

Instead, she is utilizing her administrative leave, during which she is still being paid, to advocate for Islamic groups such as Hamas.

On Tuesday, Ali shared a video that trained the camera for an extended period of time on dozens of uniformed military personnel from various countries as they exited a meeting at the Israeli embassy.

“I was protesting at the Israeli embassy today when this happened,” she wrote. “THIS is exactly who is supporting Israel’s apartheid and genocide of PALESTINE let’s name these assholes!”

Ali is using her administrative leave — during which she is being paid — to campaign for Islamic groups like Hamas

Following the October 7th pogrom in Israel, Ali expressed support on social media for the Islamic attackers, writing, “I abso-f—ing-lutely celebrate [Palestinian hang-gliders], a–hole, f— you!” Her social media page, in which she describes herself as “American born” but “Palestinian @ heart”, contains several remarks about Jews such as: “F— Israel and any Jew that supports Israel.”

The situation has raised concerns about the vetting processes within the DHS, as Ali’s inflammatory remarks on social media and her support for groups hostile to U.S. allies have triggered calls for her immediate termination. During a Congressional hearing in October, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) engaged in a heated exchange with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who refused to provide a clear explanation for Ali’s continued employment.

Nejwa Ali is not the only U.S. official with ties to controversial groups who remains employed by the Biden administration. Frontline News reported:  Yousra Fazili, a senior Pentagon official, is another example. Fazili has strong connections to the Qatari regime, which openly funds the Muslim Brotherhood and its subsidiary, Hamas. Despite concerns raised by Congressman Jack Bergman (R-MI) about Fazili’s associations and potential influence, the Department of Defense (DoD) has refused to terminate her employment. Fazili’s rise within the Pentagon, from a strategic advisor to her current position as the Pentagon’s chief financial officer and chief of staff to the under secretary of defense for comptroller, has intensified scrutiny regarding the vetting and oversight processes for high-ranking officials.

Moreover, the article highlights a third case involving Assistant Secretary for Special Operations Chief of Staff Ariane Tabatabai. Despite being exposed as an operative of the Islamic Republic of Iran involved in an influence operation called the Iranian Experts Initiative (IEI), Tabatabai continues to retain her top security clearance. She promoted a nuclear deal with Iran through various means, including writing articles for mainstream media outlets, lecturing at globalist think tanks, and serving as a key aide to former Biden administration Special Envoy to Iran Robert Malley.

Inquiries from lawmakers, including Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), have been met with deflections and brief responses from officials such as Rheanne Wirkkala, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. The lack of transparency and clear explanations regarding the continued employment and security clearances of individuals like Ali, Fazili, and Tabatabai has sparked concerns about potential vulnerabilities within the Biden administration’s vetting processes and its handling of personnel with ties to controversial or adversarial entities.
