Horrors Inflicted on Victims of Hamas Massacre Are ‘Worse Than the Holocaust’ Says Morgue Volunteer

Edited by: TJVNews.com

The world watched in horror as the recent Hamas terror attack in Israel left a trail of destruction and loss of innocent lives. The aftermath is a grim and haunting task, one that has been undertaken by volunteers like Shari who work at a military base morgue, cleaning the bodies of mutilated Israeli soldiers before they are laid to rest, as was recently reported in the UK’s MailOnline. Shari, who works with the Israeli Defense Force’s Rabbinate corps, shares a heartbreaking account of the brutality that unfolded during the massacre.

The Mail Online reported that she pointed out that the horror she has witnessed is beyond comprehension, even more so than the stories of Auschwitz she heard while growing up. Shari, a mother of four who hails from New Jersey but has lived in Israel for two decades, has been working diligently to provide dignity to the deceased, the report added.

The extent of the atrocities committed during the attack is shocking. The Mail Online report indicated that Shari described evidence of mass rape so brutal that it resulted in broken pelvises, affecting women, grandmothers, and children. The victims include those who had their heads severed, women shot in their nightdresses, and faces obliterated, according to the Mail Online report. Some victims had their hands tied behind their backs, while others were burned to charcoal. This gruesome sight bears witness to the immense pain and suffering that innocent people endured during the attack.

Shari’s personal connection to the Holocaust, as the daughter and granddaughter of survivors, lends an even deeper layer of tragedy to her involvement in this grim task, as was reported by the Mail Online. Her commitment to preserving the dignity of those who lost their lives reflects her compassion and determination to spare young recruits from the horrors of war.

In the morgue, rows of refrigerated containers hold the bodies of the victims, and morticians, wearing surgical masks, continue their grim work. The Mail Online noted that Shari’s description paints a haunting picture of the toll this brutal attack has taken.

The Israeli Defense Force’s Rabbinate corps is working tirelessly to identify the victims, even in cases where only body parts remain. The hope is to allow the families to bury their loved ones as soon as possible, in accordance with Jewish customs, as was noted in the Mail Online report. It is a heartbreaking and daunting task given the scale of the tragedy.

Colonel Rabbi Haim Weisberg reveals that over 1,400 people lost their lives in the October 7th attack, and nearly 200 were so severely mutilated and burned that they could only be identified through DNA or dental records, according to the Mail Online report.

Colonel Weisberg told the Mail Online that, “We have identified the bodies of 800 people already and we are working on a further 500. But every day we receive more corpses. Last night we received 73 more bodies. We see evidence of torture and savagery. We have babies with their heads cut off. Bodies without hands, without legs, without genitals. The traditional way would be for a child to say Kaddish [the burial prayer] for his parents. But here, we have entire families that no one’s going to be able to say Kaddish [the burial prayer] for them. ‘So that is why we must eliminate the terrorists; we must eliminate Hamas.’

Dr. Shir Kishales, a dentist, paints a grim picture of the injuries sustained by the victims, stating that it surpasses even the darkest horror films, according to the Mail Online report. The reality of the brutality that has unfolded is a harsh reminder of the horrors of war and the long-lasting trauma it inflicts on those who witness it.

As Israel mourns and works to heal in the wake of this brutal attack, Shari and others like her serve as a symbol of resilience and compassion. They endeavor to provide some solace to the grieving families and ensure that the victims are laid to rest with the respect and dignity they deserve.
