Hollywood’s response to the October 7th atrocities has become increasingly outrageous as formerly silent A-listers have penned an “Artists4Ceasefire” letter demanding “an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost.” The term “ceasefire” is another coded anti-Israel term akin to calling Israel an apartheid state or occupiers, all in the name of protecting the Palestinians and obfuscating where true sympathies lie-against Israel. The UN and its General ,Antonio Guterres, requested an immediate ceasefire on October 28th but Hollywood preceded their calls on October 20th with an even more premature letter. Withdrawing from Gaza after Hamas orchestrated the greatest Jewish attack since the Holocaust would be a devastating mistake allowing them to retool to kill more Israelis.
When a cancer exists do you allow it to fester to be dealt with at a later time or do you perform an immediate excision before its insidiousness spreads? Israel is the only country with far superior military strength that tolerated deadly rocket launches for decades without responding.
The Hollywood ceasefire letter makes no mention of the October 7th slaughter of Jews which included dismemberment, beheadings, executions, rape, infanticide and child sacrifice-with an ISIS playbook found on the bodies of Hamas terrorists. The letter fully enumerates the effects of the Israeli reprisal which has resulted in the dropping of more than 6,000 bombs on Gaza and “residents no longer getting drinking water”. What about the more than 7,000 rockets fired by Hamas in the past two weeks that the letter omits. While the letter claimed “all life is sacred no matter faith or ethnicity” it only spoke out when Palestinian life was threatened. The letter ends with the flagrantly outrageous “we refuse to tell future generations the story of our silence, that we stood by and did nothing” while that is exactly what A-listers such as Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Brad Cooper and Ben Affleck did when the 700-person October 12th Creative Community for Peace letter condemning Hamas letter was drafted.
The signers of this ceasefire letter include a host of anti-Israel naysayers such as Palestinians Dua Lipa, and Bella and Gigi Hadid whose father Mohamed compared Israel to Nazi Germany in a recently deleted Instagram post two days ago-when will this group be canceled? Mark Ruffalo and John Cusack who have referred to Israel as genocidal war criminals and colonialists were more than happy to pen their signatures. Anti-Israel Tony Kushner who in the past claimed Israel was founded on ethnic cleansing and should by boycotted also signed the letter along with crazy singer Kehlani who greeted the Hamas massacre with “Free Palestine till it’s backwards.” The letter calls for “an end to the bombing in Gaza” and tangentially mentions the “safe release of hostages”-the only portion of the 8-paragraph letter that mentions the suffering of Israel-is this really America 2023?
Singer Macklemore who was condemned for anti-Semitism in 2014 after wearing a black suit, dark wig, fake beard and large prosthetic nose which he declared a “random costume” signed the reprehensible letter. Jews such as Jon Stewart, Abbi Jacobson, Mandy Patinkin and Drake signed the letter. Drake’s own father Dennis Graham theorized on October 15th that Drake was silent because he was afraid “it was going to come back on him” but when he finally decided to speak it was to criticize Israel. The quietest of all during this ordeal has been refugee advocate Angelina Jolie who broke her silence on October 29th, more than three weeks later, declaring “I have spent the last weeks sick and angry at the terrorist attack in Israel.” So Angie why didn’t you speak out? Why have you waited until now with calls for an immediate ceasefire when you were completely voiceless akin to JLo and Ben Affleck when almost 2,000 Israeli civilians were decimated? I guess “Black and Palestinian Lives Matter” but Jewish Lives are cheap. Is all hope lost with singers such as Alicia Keys condoning terrorism by saying she wanted to take up paragliding akin to the Hamas terrorists? Thankfully, there are a few bright lights including Jewish singer Pink who at first denied flying Israeli flags at her concert but came out with an Instagram post on October 28 that was unequivocally supportive and rational declaring “Hamas is a terrorist organization that seeks to destroy Jews and murder and oppress women, the LGBTQIA community and political opponents.” Pink’s Jewish mother Judith Moore, and Irish German father James Moore produced a remarkably Israel loving daughter despite her left wing pro-choice stance. Floyd Mayweather, Debra Messing, Jon Voight, Amy Schumer, Gal Gadot, Jerry Seinfeld and Mark Hamill have all been outspoken advocates. However, the term ceasefire should never be used until Israel has eradicated the terrorist infrastructure helmed and unleashed by the radical Hamas.
