So Not a Trumpy from Arizona

Dear Editor:

Someone who was well intentioned stated I supported Trump. For the record, I have never been, nor will I ever be a supporter of Trump because…he lacks integrity, character and dignity.  He bullies and stomps on any and all who dare to oppose his will. His foul mouth made millions of Independents, moderate-to-conservative, middle ground Republicans hold their noses and vote for Biden, solely to get rid of Trump. Character is always more important than “policies.” And we deserve both.

We are longing for someone to lead us, who will, as JFK did, demand of us, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”  We are desperate for a Republican Party who will appoint a moderate conservative, a well spoken, articulate statesperson, a dynamic educated leader who can speak to, and unite all of us, all ethnic groups, all ages, all of us from all walks of life, who can entertain some needed changes moving forward, while restoring respect for America’s values and history.

We need leadership who will reject Trump’s polarization of every issue, of every discussion, pitting our worst extremes against each other, and instead, begin to actually talk to the other side and problem-solve. Bill Maher gave an example of how actors in Hollywood often really can’t stand each other but they put that aside and do their jobs. That is what is needed in order for us to avoid having to tell others we now live in DisUnited, Dysfunctional America, heading for civil war, as opposed to being proud to live in America, the land of freedom and opportunity for all, the wondrous founder of democracy at its best.

Lori Lightfoot Plays the Racism Card

Dear Editor:

The loss of the re-election bid for Chicago’s Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, was a breath of fresh air. Whodathought that would happen, ever,, in Chicago? But, she fell back on that old Democrat theme of “racism,” when she blamed her primary defeat on being a “black woman in America.” But that didn’t prevent her from being elected in the first place, did it? Perhaps this is a good sign that voters, even dumb-as-dirt Democrats, in a sinkhhole city like Chicago, have awakened to reality? Or did it? The run-oof, coming soon will be between a black black guy and a white one. The African American candidate, a former school administrator is no better intelligence-wise than Lightfoot, while the white guy, although a Democrat is a bit more conservative and……white. Will the good folks in the Windy City finally drop their racism in politics and decide to elect someone with brains and who has the ability to raise them up from their low levels of accomplishments, their heavy involvement with crime and their legendary criminality in office? Don’t bet on it. And I’m black and proud of it.

On the Side of Democracy

Dear Editor:

Why all of the confusion about our involvement in Ukraine?  Aren’t we on the side of those seeking democracy for their nation? Haven’t we always been on the side of those being wronged by stronger nations, evil countries who wish to gobble up the weaker ones? It’s a fact : Russia attacked Ukraine, promising to incorporate that nation into it growing empire under Putin. We were led to believe that the war would end within mere weeks, being that Russia was so much stronger.

And look what happened. The Russkies were kicked in the ass, bleeding thousands of their young to death. And we stand around giving them small arms and not sending them our best fighter planes and electronic equipment to help them defeat the armies of evil. Where are those on the Far Right who shamelessly denounce Zelenskyy as a “criminal billionaire” when it comes to standing up for what’s right? Just think if we had this same attitude in 1941. Where would we be now?

 Sincerely

The Fate of John Fetterman

Dear Editor:

Why is Senator John Fetterman still on the roll of the Senate? He’s now settled into a mental institution, perhaps for a long time, and that’s sad. No one deserves that fate. But he’s still a voting member of that body and totally useless to the nation. Does he know what’s going on? What if they wheel him onto the Senate floor for a crucial vote that determines the fate of the nation? But there’s no real reason for him to have been elected, in the first place. He was clearly “out of it” when he debated Dr. Oz and showed signs of complete incoherence when speaking.

And we were told outright, that he couldn’t understand the words spoken to him. He had to use some sort of electronic device to somehow make him understand what was being said. And yet he a elected by the citizens of Pennsylvania to one of the highest positions of leadership in the nation. Can anyone explain that one to me? Would you have a surgeon in that mental state operate on you? Would you have a waiter in that condition take your order at a restaurant?

Perhaps democracy in this land has already served its purpose. When a guy like Fetterman can get elected with no outcry from those he represents, it’s all over. And the Dems go nuts when a guy like Santos makes it into Congress? Give me a break!

Sincerely
Joseph Canera

Thinks Biden is Heartless & Cruel

Dear Editor:

I was astounded and taken aback by President Biden’s chuckling during a speech in which he lambasted the mother of two sons who fell as victims to ingesting Fentanyl. And this is the guy who begs for pity when talking about his son who died from cancer? Doesn’t he understand a parent’s grief when losing a child from whatever cause? And hasn’t he protected his own kid, Hunter, who is deranged and a criminal, to boot, who also is addicted to drugs? Sure as hell, his kid will surely fall victim to his drug habit, sooner or later and he’ll call on America to pity him for his loss.

I voted for Joe in the last election but no more. The guy is heartless, cruel and not worthy of anyone’s vote.

 Thanks,
