A group of liberty minded politicians are demanding “the city lift a controversial pandemic-era mandate prohibiting unvaccinated parents from attending events at public schools”, according to Rich Caulder of The New York Post.

The New York Post reports that a letter was sent Thursday to the Department of Education Chancellor David Banks and Health Department Commissioner Ashwin Vasan. The City Council’s Common-Sense Caucus said the time was right to end the nearly three-year-old mandate considering the DOE’s recent “bold step into the post-COVID-19 world” to shut down its coronavirus command center.

“In order to keep taking steps towards post-pandemic normalcy, we must continue to lift the barriers put in place during the height of outbreak – barriers that we now know may have been of limited actual effectiveness,” wrote Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Queens) of behalf on the caucus, in the letter.

The letter goes in to say, “for three long school years, unvaccinated parents have been prevented from attending functions at facilities operated by the…DOE. These people have been forced to miss plays, proms, graduations, and sporting events, adding to the stresses felt by students and families who were already enduring the difficulties of receiving an education during a global pandemic.

“As the DOE recognizes the declining danger COVID-19 presents to New York’s school children – as made evident by their closure of the COVID command center – it must also acknowledge that unvaccinated persons no longer pose an extraordinary risk to others as well.”

Health Department spokesman Patrick Gallahue responded saying, “we will always follow the science. We’re reviewing all options and will circle back with any updates.” The science has shown the COVID vaccine does not preventing from getting the virus.

In the last seven days, according to the city of New York website, New York City had an average of 3,035 cases daily and 120 hospitalizations. There were still an unfortunate 13 deaths. As of today, over 92% of residents of the state of New York have received at least one dose of the vaccine. 78% of New Yorkers have been fully immunized.

Medical segregation is a bigger political issue than the media would like to admit. Mayor Adams, in his first days in office, slowly lifted most draconian de Blasio era vaccine restrictions, which created a dark, tension in the city, pitting the vaccinated vs the unvaccinated.

The former mayor via a series of unprecedented mandates, essentially banned the unvaccinated from almost every form of enjoyment in the city, banning the unvaccinated from restaurants, museums, movie theaters, and every possible kind of indoor event. 5-year-old children were dragged out of Applebee’s over their vaccination status, in a display of tyranny rarely seen in the free world.

Adams has quietly lifted most of the extremist vaccine policies, allowing humanity to come together once more, and few COVID vaccine mandates remain such as school events and parents issue , and certain City jobs and health profession positions still require the jab.

Almost every private business stopped requiring the COVID vaccine once Adams lifted the vaccine mandate for private employees.  Adams started a nationwide trend as shortly after NYC ended the vaccine segregation, the rest of the country lifted most of their vaccine requirements.
