In a recent NYPD analysis, a shocking statistic was discovered, many of the victims of violent crime in the city have been minors under the age of 18.
The number of teenage victims and shooters in the Big Apple has tripled in recent years with New Yorkers under 18 now accounting for an ever-greater share of the bloodshed on city streets, a shocking new police memo reveals., the NY Post reported.
The NYPD revealed that 12.7% of identified shooters were younger than age 18 during the first eight months of 2022, a significant jump from the same time period in 2017, when 9.2% of shooters were identified as teenagers.
Teenagers represented 10.9% of the shooting victims across the five boroughs over the first eight months of 2022, the analysis found — double the 5.7% rate reported in 2017.
There were 111 teenage shooting victims over the first eight months of 2022, which is triple the 36 victims over the same time period in 2017.
Teenagers are more likely to be a victim of a violent crime, mainly a shooting, than dying from COVID, which has killed essentially nobody in the young demographic; despite the unhinged push to vaccinate children by the former mayor of NYC. De Blasio spent the last year of his office: acting like a vaccine salesman segregating society based on vaccination status, decimating the once vibrant restaurant industry by forcing establishments to check their customer’s vaccine status, punishing little children whose parents chose not to vaccine them and creating an Orwellian atmosphere which America has never witnessed.
As de Blasio pushed his medical tyranny, crime exploded across the city, as the bodies piled up and the gunshots rang out. “Current Mayor Eric Adams is receiving a lot of criticism for the crime surge, however 8 years of a devout radical in Bill de Blasio must never be forgotten, de Blasio posed as an adversary of the NYPD, sided with BLM Marxists, and pushed a dangerous agenda of racial division”, a retired NYPD officer, told TJV News.
Police have recorded 992 shootings with 1,206 victims so far this year.

“It is crystal clear we are failing our kids,” said Richard Aborn, president of the Citizens Crime Commission, who has helped craft policing policy for several decades in New York.
The figures, he said, bolster the findings outlined in alarming new research that shows the average age children first pick up an illegal gun has dropped from an average of 16 or 17 to just 12 or 13 years old.
“We need to get ahead of it. It is a national trend but that doesn’t mitigate it,” Aborne added, saying officials need to redouble efforts to provide parents and counselors with training and resources to better spot early signs of violence.
The NYPD report also found that recidivism among teenagers has dramatically increased over the five-year period.
But it notes the uptick began before the pandemic struck in 2020 and state lawmakers passed controversial legislation that increased the age of criminal prosecution for many crimes — including gun possession — to 18 years old in 2019.
One can contribute the mayhem to the Democrat party supporting the insidious BLM movement, which created a violent and hostile environment across the nation, by inventing a false narrative of police ruthlessly murdering innocent black people. Statistics show police shootings have gone down over the last 20 years and in most cases, the police shot a perpetrator as they were being attacked.
