Libs of Tik Tok Banned from Facebook Over Posts that Accuse Hospital of Performing Sex Change Operations on Minors

Edited by: TJVNews.com

The social media account “Libs of TikTok” that often challenges the woke, progressive political agenda has been summarily banned by Facebook after staffers at Boston Children’s Hospital reportedly received threats in the aftermath of a post that alleged the hospital was providing hysterectomies to minors, according to a New York Post report.

“Facebook just suspended our account. No reason given,” Libs of TikTok tweeted on Wednesday, sharing a screenshot indicating that the account “didn’t follow our Community Standards.”

“They suspended our account and we immediately appealed,” the social media account said of Wednesday’s actions by Facebook, according to the Post reported They added that, “Within 2 minutes they answered that we’re suspended for good. I’m sure we totally got a full and fair review.”

The Post has reached out to Libs of TikTok, Facebook’s parent company, Meta, and Boston Children’s Hospital seeking comment.

According to documents reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation, Boston Children’s Hospital performs mastectomies on transgender minors as young as 15, and previous guidance allowed vaginoplasty to be performed on 17-year-olds, as was reported on Thursday on the DailyCaller.com web site.

The hospital has performed at least 65 transgender chest surgeries on minors, the vast majority of whom were biologically female and identified as transgender males, according to the DailyCaller.com report. The hospital’s guidance allowed vaginoplasty at 17 and did not list an age limit for “gender-affirming” hysterectomies until online activists shared the hospital’s videos promoting the procedures, sparking outrage.

Boston Children’s Hospital performed 204 “gender affirmation” surgeries from 2017 to 2020, including 65 chest surgeries performed on minors, according to data published by the National Institutes of Health and reported on by the DailyCaller.com. The average chest surgery patient was 18, and the youngest was 15.

The Daily Caller also reported that the hospital updated its guidance with a minimum age requirement of 18 for all “gender-affirming” genital surgeries and hysterectomies after being subject to criticism and threats related to its online promotion of sex change procedures, although it still allows mastectomies at 15.

On August 11th, Libs of TikTok shared a video showing Dr. Frances Grimstad, a gynecologist and obstetrician at Boston Children’s Hospital, speaking about “gender-affirming hysterectomies,” as was reported by the Post.

In the promotional half-minute video, Grimstad describes the procedure, which is “the removal of the uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes” as well as, in some cases, the removal of ovaries, the Post reported.

Boston Children’s Hospital touts itself as the nation’s first pediatric hospital that established an adolescent transgender health program, the Post reported. The medical community has come under fire from conservatives over gender-affirming care provided to young people.

The Post also reported that the tweet by Libs of TikTok accused the hospital of offering up these procedures for “young girls” — which many on Twitter assumed to mean minors.

Libs of TikTok claimed that the hospital “supports castrating kids and I have evidence,” adding that it “had a full menu of castration and mutilation options for minors to choose from,” in a post on its Substack blog, according to the Post report.

Speaking to the Daily Caller News Foundation, Dr. Jay Richards, senior research fellow at the DeVos Center said: “We know that until recently, almost all young kids with gender dysphoria reconciled with their sexed bodies after they get through puberty. The effect of ‘gender affirmation’ and early social transition, in contrast, is to put kids on a fast track to surgical intervention and sterilization.”

The Post also reported that Libs of TikTok shared a link to a story from conservative media outlets accusing the hospital of “promoting surgeries to youth on their YouTube page,” including “vaginoplasty on 17-year-olds” and possibly younger girls as well.

The Boston Globe reported that since the post by Libs of TikTok, doctors and staffers at Boston Children’s Hospital have reportedly been deluged with threats. Speaking to the Globe, the hospital said that it “has been the target of a large volume of hostile internet activity, phone calls, and harassing emails including threats of violence toward our clinicians and staff.”

In a statement released to the media, the hospital said, “We are deeply concerned by these attacks on our clinicians and staff fueled by misinformation and a lack of understanding and respect for our transgender community.”
