Just suppose for a moment, just suppose, for instance, that Andy Cuomo, while campaigning in Perinton, New York, was attacked by an armed individual, whose clear intent was to harm him, and the Monroe County Sheriff, an elected Republican, had allowed the attacker to walk away, with no bail. And let’s say that Republicans across the board murmured into their armpits (like the Dems are doing) about how they wished Cuomo well. The press would go nuts and the streets would be filled with protesters demanding the attacker be put away for years and years. Not in this instance. All reversed. And getting back to reality and the current situation…the media is silent about the attempted assassination. CNN, MSNBC, PBS, ABS NPR and CNN have been as quiet as their Teslas. And New York’s sitting governor and a staunch supporter of her state’s no bail, no jail for criminals, yawningly tweeted the day after the attack,
“My team has informed me about the incident at Lee Zeldin’s campaign event tonight. Relieved to hear that Congressman Zeldin was not injured and that the suspect is in custody.” Wrong! He was released and she knew it. She sleepily continued, “I condemn this violent behavior in the strongest terms possible – it has no place in New York,’ she wrote. President Biden, when awakened to be told of the incident, was reported to have whispered, “As I’ve said before, violence has absolutely no place in our society or our politics.” He apparently didn’t even know Zeldin’s name, nor cared. And during the 2020 violent riots that destroyed the inner communities of our major cities, he said not a word in condemnation of BLM or of ANTIFA, both thuggish groups the front line troops of the Progressives.
Of course, in these very pages, we’ve called the “No bail, no jail” laws instituted by our Liberal elected representatives in Albany a travesty of justice that will result not only in the decay of our state, but in the loss of lives of the innocent citizens who now fear just walking home from the subway or just sitting on their stoops. Perhaps future Governor Zeldin will do the right thing to keep our citizens safe and happy enough to remain where they are and not look to relocate to safer environs. We hope so.
But going further into the physical attacks on Conservatives by Liberals. Recall how Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was attacked twice, once nearly losing his life with a punctured lung as the result of being assaulted on his own front lawn. Then there was the attempted slaughter of the Republican baseball team as they practiced in D.C., where five were shot and Congressman Steve Scalise nearly died of his injuries. The attacker was a Bernie Sanders supporter and his goal was to …kill. Congresswoman (We apologize if we have her sex wrong) Maxine Waters, told a crowd of her supporters,
“If you see anybody from that (Republican) cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!” And her minions of mindless morons did just that. Many Republican notables have been harassed and chased out of restaurants, running for their lives. And even Senator Chuckie Boy Schumer has called for violence. At an abortion rally, he shouted out, pumping his fist in anger, “I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” His call for violence was answered with a heavily armed potential assassin being arrested outside of Justice Kavanaugh’s home. Believe us, more calls for and more violence is coming in answer to the calls for such by the Dem leaders. Watch out!!
