Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) declared a heightened terrorism threat due to “several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories.”

Read the startling  DHS National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin(LINK) released on Monday:

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.
These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation.
While the conditions underlying the heightened threat landscape have not significantly changed over the last year, the convergence of the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment: (1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions; (2) continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents; and (3) calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events.

In response to these major “threats” of unsanctioned speech, the DHS said it’s “working with public and private sector partners, as well as foreign counterparts, to identify and evaluate MDM, including false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories spread on social media and other online platforms that endorse or could inspire violence.”

While the items listed 2 and 3 are standard and aimed at actual terrorism, the first item is clearly very broad and basically criminalizes any speech which goes against government institutions views and information.

(1) the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions.

As an example of “false or misleading narratives” the DHS memo states

  • For example, there is widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021.

Clearly, the DHS is politicizing homeland security, and essentially placing several main steam conservative grievances as “terrorist thought”, including questioning the 2020  election and questioning COVID restrictions and the vaccine.

Several of the items listed are indeed threats and should be taken seriously, (the recent attack on a synagogue in Colleyville, threats directed at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other colleges and universities, Jewish facilities, and churches, The Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham, ISIS) however the document is clearly targeting average Americans who may question the election of 2020, COVID policies and vaccines.

The document even mentions individuals who are critical of 5G technology as a threat!

The DHS also singles out individuals who are against the Afghanistan refuge resettlement policies of Biden.  This document is essentially an attack on free speech and the American tradition of speaking grievances with government policy.

DHS  states: A small number of threat actors are attempting to use the evacuation and resettlement of Afghan nationals following the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan last year as a means to exacerbate long-standing grievances and justify attacks against immigrants.

This is essentially a DNC talking point and goes against any resemblance of reality. There are no widespread “attacks against immigrants” in America. In fact, most bias attacks are against those who identify as Jews, as per the FBI themselves. There has been an uptick in violence against Asian Americans, which has nothing to do with migrant resettlement policies and was going on before the Afghan issue became an issue.

In other words, the DHS is saying if you question Biden, you might be a potential terrorist.

This DHS terrorism memo should be a red flag for anyone who believes in free speech.
