A pro-Israel, Trump supporting Republican has a good shot at winning City Council Seat in Southern Brooklyn.

Candidate Inna Vernikov, a 37-year-old immigration and divorce lawyer and Jewish Ukrainian native — is running against Democrat Steve Saperstein.

Vernikov, who is very pro-Israel filed a formal complaint against MS 136 Principal Amanda Bueno, who made headlines after sending an anti-Israel email to teachers and administrators.

In May, Bueno emailed the teachers and administrators at MS 136, in Sunset Park, amid the 11-day conflict between Israel and Hamas terrorists who launched rockets at Israeli civilians from the Gaza Strip following clashes at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, NY Post reported.

“If you have been watching the news in absolute horror, you are not alone,” Bueno wrote at the time.

“You can take action today by protesting, attending a vigil, making a public commitment to Palestinian Liberation, signing a petition, or calling your government officials to place sanctions on Israel.”

The far-left principal was roundly condemned by most parents of the Brooklyn school, however rabid anti-Semitic radical Linda Sarsour, praised Bueno.

The candidates for the 48th Council District are vying to succeed ex-Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who forfeited his seat earlier this year after getting convicted of tax fraud, NY Post reported.

This Council District, registration-wise is heavily Democratic, and includes many Russian-speaking and Jewish immigrants in the communities of Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sheepshead Bay and Homecrest.

The NY Post pointed out: Donald Trump trounced Joe Biden in the district in last year’s presidential race, which means droves of moderate-to-conservative crossed over to back the GOP incumbent.

The news outlet also sited veteran local Democrats, who know the district well, who believe Vernikov could blow up in popularity among the Ukrainian and Russian voters that may be registered Democrats, loved President Trump.

The NY Post reported: Vernikov did not shy away from her support of Trump in last year’s presidential race when recently talking to The Post.

“I did vote for Trump. He was the best president we’ve had for Israel and the Jews,” she said.

The Pro-Trump candidate has stated that she will oppose the city-wide COVID-19 vaccine mandate and fight to restore funding to the NYPD.

“I oppose vaccine mandates,” she said.

“We’re going to have a nursing shortage” because medical workers will refuse to get immunized, even if it means they lose their jobs, she said.

Vernikov has also had issues with Facebook, like many conservatives and individuals opposed to vaccine mandates frequently do.

She recently filed a police complaint after claiming someone hacked into her Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Facebook disabled her accounts, blocking what it deemed objectionable content and claiming the 37-year-old candidate was too young to have an account, according to the NY Post.
