In a hypothetical gubernatorial matchup against an unnamed Republican opponent, Attorney General Tish James did better than Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as it seems finally New Yorkers are turning on Cuomo.

Amazingly, even after the nursing home death scandal, the endless amounts of sexual harassment accusations, the COVID testing scandal, and the Cuomo book scandal, the Teflon governor has maintained around a 45%- 50% approval rating, and the majority of Democrats want him to run again.

“The fact that Cuomo is hovering around a 45%-50% approval rating, proves the power of the media and the power of fear. New Yorkers, turned to Cuomo’s self- aggrandizing coronavirus briefings, for security during an uncertain time, the media endlessly praised him, practically deifying the guy, and even after all that was learned about Cuomo, the thousands of seniors slaughtered by poor policy, the fudging of the death numbers, the parade of sexual harassment accusations, the book deal where the guy was paid $5.1 million for a book which sold 2 copies and how he used government staff to assist him, all of this and the people don’t want his head on a platter? They just cannot let go of that period of time, where Cuomo was their security blanket, it is quite amazing”, an unnamed political insider told TJV news in a recent conversation.

Politico reported on the Siena College Research Institute poll:

Turning to next year’s gubernatorial election, voters said they would prefer James over an unnamed Republican by a margin of 46-29. That is a 17-point lead.

They would prefer Cuomo over an unnamed Republican by a margin of 48-38. That is a 10-point lead.

In other words, without even knowing who the GOP is running, they would still go with Cuomo, however they would prefer someone new.

However, when asked whether voters want Cuomo to win a fourth term,  Democrats backed that idea by a margin of 56-33. That is an amazing number for a man mired in unbelievable scandals.

The Sienna poll also indicated:

A total of 44 percent of respondents say they view Cuomo favorably, while 48 percent say they view him unfavorably. That is an improvement from the 40-52 he hit in April. In other words, his approval rating has gone up.

“The slow process of the James investigation, and the media completely losing interest in Cuomo and still talking about January 6th endlessly and Trump, even though he has been out of office for 4 months, is contributing to this, it’s amazing”, TJV’s anonymous inside source exclaimed.

The bad news for Cuomo discovered in this poll is that those who do not support Cuomo, hate him more than ever.

NY Post pointed out:

Forty-one percent of registered voters said Cuomo should resign immediately as governor, compared to 49 percent who say he should not step down.

That’s five percentage points higher than April’s poll, which asked the same question: A month ago, 37 percent of voters said the Democrat should resign compared to 51 percent who said he should not.
