Seems like many New Yorkers are high tailing it out of the Big Apple because of the coronavirus and for other reasons, such as the compromised quality of life. Many are heading to New Jersey but quite a few are heading south to the Sunshine State, where taxes are a breeze and life is more relaxed, especially if you’re a political conservative.
And on that note, it may not come as surprise to you, but it has been reported that the Trump family is also planning on relocating to Florida. While President Trump and wife Melania may call the ritzy Palm Beach estate of Mar-a-Lago their winter home, they are also shopping around for a new venue in which to hang their hat in the Sunshine State.
And that goes for the president’s children as well. According to the NY Post, Donald Trump Jr, his girlfriend, former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle and his half-sister Tiffany Trump are all looking for new places in Florida.
New York City is no longer quite welcoming to the Trumps as was voiced on Wednesday by Mayor Bill DeBlasio. He said that the city is canceling all contracts with the Trump Organization, blaming the president for the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
“The President incited a rebellion against the United States government that killed five people and threatened to derail the constitutional transfer of power,” de Blasio said in a statement, in depiction of events Trump rejects.
“The City of New York will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way or form, and we are immediately taking steps to terminate all Trump Organization contracts,” he added.
So, this is yet another reason for the Trump family to see more hospitable accommodations.
A source close to the Trump family said that, “There is no way they can stay in New York. They’d be tortured in the streets, ” according to the Post report.
According to the Post report, Trump Jr, 43, and Guilfoyle, 51, are “looking at homes in Jupiter, about an hour and a half away from Indian Creek Island, where Jared Kushner, 40, and Ivanka Trump, 39, just bought a $30 million lot.”
Indian Creek is also home to such celebs as Julio Iglesias, investor Carl Icahn and billionaire Jeff Soffer, according to the Post report. Soon to be residents of the exclusive are as NFL star Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen.
Vanessa Trump, 43, who is Donald Jr’s ex-wife lives in Jupiter with the couple’s five children, according to the Post report and the location is fairly close to the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter. If the name Jupiter rings a bell, it is where the late actor Burt Reynolds made his home and where he maintained a very successful dinner-theater operation.
A source told the Post that, “they are looking at a very secure, guarded, protected community with like-minded conservatives, adding that the move also benefits Trump’s tax situation.
As has been widely reported, Don Jr is a gun aficionado and a professional game hunter, so he is also looking for a home in which he can designate a room for his cherished collection of armaments.
Tiffany Trump, 27, the president’s second daughter who he had during his marriage to actress Marla Maples is also doing some real estate shopping in south Florida, according to the NY Post.
Having just graduated from Georgetown University Law School, the younger Trump daughter is looking for property in the trendy South Beach section of Miami, according to a source who spoke exclusively with the Post.
For the time being, Tiffany is now calling the Setai Hotel in South Beach home as she shares a pad there with her boyfriend Michael Boulos. The two have been an item for about two years and her beau is from a wealthy family in Nigeria, according to the Post. Although the two are enjoying each other’s company, the source told the Post that Tiffany is planning to buy herself a place for her own use.
The source also said that Tiffany is not sure what the next move will be in terms of her career.
On Saturday, Page Six of the Post reported that Tiffany was seen at Joia Beach in Miami, keeping a very low profile and certainly not looking to attract any kind of attention.
The Post also reported that over the weekend Tiffany and Michael were seen with Israeli singer Omer Adam at SAAM Lounge at SLS Brickell in Miami.
