Looking for a quick and fun way to get in shape? Adults looking for an efficient full-body cardio workout are taking out the jump rope. A study from 2013 revealed that college men who spend just 10 minutes a day jumping rope for six weeks, can improve their cardiovascular fitness as much as college men who jog for 30 minutes daily. But, don’t head to the dollar store yet.

As per a recent article in the NY Post, the craze for adult jump ropes has opened up a new market for SmartRopes, which help track your progress. The SmartRope LED-is embedded with 23 LED lights and has a discount code available, which brings the price down to under $70, down from $79.95. The revolutionary rope is equipped with cool tech to count your jumps, the calories burned, time elapsed, and overall fitness progress. It can sync your data and save your settings with popular apps including Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, Under Armor Record, MapMyFitness, and Samsung S Health. The rope even offers training sessions based on your skill level and goals, and keeps users motivated by allowing them to compete with other Smartrope owners in the Daily Champion and Speed Master modes. The LED embedded jump rope is a winner of the 2015 japan GOOD DESIGN gold award.

For those who don’t want to shell out as much for a jump rope, the company also sells The SmartRope PURE. The price after the coupon code is $50. It can be adjusted for height and stance, and also can track the jump count, calories burned, and workout times. The downloadable Smart Gym app, will allow users to get training, enter jumping competitions, and even get awards.

For those on a budget, SmartRope offers the Rookie Rope for just under $32. This gadget also counts jumps, and still allows you to use the free SmartRope app to track progress, as well as compete with others.

The SmartRopes are designed by Tangram Factory, an award winning design agency based in Seoul, Korea , with a US base in Hackensack, NJ. All three SmartRopes include rechargeable batteries and come in a variety of colors. The health tracking components don’t just monitor movement like most passive wearables do, but rather the products incorporate the natural motion of skipping rope to more accurately count jumps, track and recommend workout interval sessions, and calculate calories burned based on a person’s body mass index (BMI). Amazon and other retailers are also selling similar non-branded products many of which come with their own apps, at lower price points.
