During the middle of the violent roots on Friday night, as radical protestors were attempting to blow up squad cars with Molotov cocktails, as officers were confronted face to face with rabid communists, anarchists and assorted other angry people, cursing them every expletive under the sun, a female protestor was shoved on the ground by an apparently stressed out NYPD officer, and is now under investigation .
A New York City police officer is under review after a viral video appeared to show him shoving a female protester on Friday night.
A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) told The Hill that the department was aware of the video and that the incident was under internal review, The Hill reported.
The video, which has racked up 7.4 million views, appears to be taken a few blocks from the Barclays Center, where protests over Floyd’s death in police custody in Minneapolis erupted in chaos Friday night.
The protestor claims she did not spit in the officer’s face, which allegedly was what started the incident. Thousands of hours of footage from the Brooklyn riots, indicate the rioters were frequently going up to officer’s faces, spitting and cursing, many rioters physically attacked the NYPD. By all accounts, the officers across the city showed incredible discipline as they were treated like proverbial punching bags by every radical, Anti-American, leftist group under the sun
TJV reviewed raw footage of the Friday riots, and out in the open Maoists, Leninists, ANTIFA members and members of the Communist Revolutionary Party all attended the melee. The common scene of BLM protestors peaceful with their hands up, was not the scene Friday night as black clad, mostly Caucasian political agitators filled the area. Friday’s riots concluded with arrests of 2 lawyers and a radical from Upstate NY, trying to kill police with Molotov cocktails.
The young woman in the video, Dounya Zayer, has since come forward to debunk “lies” that she spit in the officer’s face, the NY Post reported
“This was me, and I want to make one thing clear to all the people that are commenting lies below this video,” she tweeted. “I did NOT spit in this officer’s face. I was wearing a face mask. He told me to get out of the street and then immediately threw me out of the way.”
In a separate video posted from a hospital bed, Zayer said the officer was “walking in my direction” and “I did not get in his face … I was standing in place … and I never put my hands on him.”
