Comptroller Scott Stringer holds Staten Island Town Hall

New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer greets Mendy Mirocznik, president of the Staten Island Council of Jewish Organizations at the Town Hall
City Comptroller Scott Stringer held a packed town hall in Tompkinsville Tuesday night and spoke to residents who voiced concerns over topics such as transportation, housing and resiliency projects, among other issues.
Comptroller Stringer vowed to follow-up with any resident who was unable to receive an answer to a question by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“If you have a personal issue, I promise you before 10:30 in the morning one of our staffers here tonight will call you — I guarantee before 10:30,” Stringer said.
“We are never late,” Stringer added, “because when you’re the auditor, you can’t be late.”
The Council of Jewish Organizations of Staten Island was a co-Sponsor of the town hall.  Mendy Mirocznik, president of COJO-SI attended the meeting and remarked, “the meeting was most informative and Comptroller Scott Stringer took the time, energy and patience and together with an attentive ear listened and addressed the issues and concerns presented to him at the Town Hall. The key to good government is communication and a connection between our elected officials and the constituency they represent.  It is only through dialogue, frank conversation and engagement between the public and our elected officials can positive change become reality. On behalf of COJO-SI, I thank Comptroller Stringer for showcasing the best of democracy in action.
