Socialist Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently unblocked Dov Hikind from her Twitter account after she censored the former Democratic NY State Assemblyman and apologized to him to avoid going before a judge. Hikind with his lawyer Jacob Weinstein, filed a lawsuit in federal court, contending that this was a violation of his first amendment right but according to the NY Post she is still blocking people from her Twitter, especially conservatives.
“I have reconsidered my decision to block Dov Hikind from my Twitter account. Mr. Hikind has a First Amendment right to express his views and should not be blocked for them. In retrospect, it was wrong and improper and does not reflect the values I cherish. I sincerely apologize for blocking Mr. Hikind. Now and in the future, however, I reserve the right to block users who engage in actual harassment or exploit my personal/campaign account, @AOC, for commercial or other improper purposes.”, the radical congresswoman said in a statement the day before she was set to appear in court over the censorship lawsuit.
The NY Post however exposed that Ocasio-Cortez is still blocking people who disagree with her.
Five individuals or entities blocked by Ocasio-Cortez tell The Post they remain blocked and are unable to see or interact with the Congresswoman’s tweets from their accounts and they don’t think it’s fair.
20-year-old journeyman former reporter, who briefly worked for TJV and currently an aspiring conservative “tweeter”, Harry Cherry, told the Post “I reached out to … her former chief of staff Saikat [Chakrabarti] asking to be unblocked and I never heard back”
“Ocasio-Cortez blocked me back in April after I posted a video that showed her using an accent to speak to an African-American audience at [Rev. Al Sharpton’s] National Action Network,” Ryan Saavedra, a popular reporter at the conservative Daily Wire, told The Post.
Liz Wheeler, a host at OAN, a conservative news network, said she was blocked in July after criticizing Ocasio-Cortez for her vote against a bill that would have provided $4.5 billion in emergency relief aid to detained migrants at the U.S. border.
The socialist radial, who is convinced the world will end in 12 years, does not like anyone calling her out on her record, challenging her views or her disingenuous behavior, it appears.
The Daily Caller Twitter account was blocked after making a joke about “Communist cow farts” and the Green New Deal in the comments section of a May 28 tweet in which AOC warned about the dangers of climate change, the Post pointed out.
“I honestly don’t think that elected officials should be able to block people on Twitter if they’re going to use it to disseminate information,” Daily Caller editor-in-chief Geoffrey Ingersoll told The Post.
“ A Federal appeals court ruled that the president can’t block people on his Twitter, yet the darling of the far left media is still doing it, AOC is a total hack, terrified of 20 year old kids like Harry Cherry, and Daily Wire reporters, it’s embarrassing that this woman was elected to represent giant swaths of Queens and the Bronx”, Libertarian leaning political analyst Jared Evan told The Jewish Voice.
