USPS Filed Patent for Block Chain Based Secure Voting in Febuary

0

Jared Evan

Social media uncovered a very interesting patent filed by the USPS in early February, one which if conceived earlier and implemented in time for the election, could have resolved the stalemate we face over the USPS and mail in voting.

USPS filed for a patent (follow link) on February 7, 2020 for a “Secure Voting System” that uses a blockchain access layer. Obviously, this could be one of the strongest signals of a welcome adaptation to blockchain by the U.S. government since blockchain was thrust on the map by Bitcoin.

“A voting system can use the security of blockchain and the mail to provide a reliable voting system,” the patent application says. “A registered voter receives a computer readable code in the mail and confirms identity and confirms correct ballot information in an election. The system separates voter identification and votes to ensure vote anonymity, and stores votes on a distributed ledger in a blockchain.”

The “United States Postal Service” is listed as the applicant on the application.

“Voters generally wish to be able to vote for elected officials or on other issues in a manner that is convenient and secure,” the application says. “Further, those holding elections wish to be able to ensure that election results have not been tampered with and that the results actually correspond to the votes that were cast. In some embodiments, a blockchain allows the tracking of the various types of necessary data in a way that is secure and allows others to easily confirm that data has not been altered.”

Andrew Cuomo Allows New York Gyms to Reopen at 33% Capacity; Masks Required

HANNAH BLEAU(BREITBART)

Gyms across the Empire State will finally be able to open their doors to the public as early as next week after months of closures due to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced that gyms, which have been shut down since March, will be allowed to reopen as soon as August 24 but at a limited capacity.

“Basically the outline is 33 percent capacity,” Cuomo announced Monday. “There are health requirements that are in the guidelines to the ventilation requirements.”

The guidelines require masks to be worn “at all times.”

Cuomo added that localities must inspect facilities before or “within two weeks of their opening to make sure they’re meeting all the requirements.”

“If the localities can get the inspections done or be ready to inspect, then they can open August 24. If a locality can’t get ready to do inspections, then they get another week. They can do it September 2,” he said.

Localities will also get to determine if gyms may hold indoor exercise classes, the governor added:

“The gyms are going to say these are difficult guidelines. And they are. Gyms are one of the areas where you have to be very careful — and we know that,” Cuomo explained.

“If it’s not done right, it can be a problem. It is an area of concern — that’s why we went slow on it and that’s why we focused on it,” he added.

New York, once considered a hotspot of the virus, reported a positivity rate below one percent on Monday:

A-Rod & J-Lo Might Soon Be New Owners of the NY Mets

In Early July, Major League Baseball, started accepting bids to buy the NY Mets, and former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and his fiance Bronx native pop and movie star Jennifer Lopez are now the favorites to be the new owners.

According to Sportico, Major League Baseball had pre-approved seven groups as qualified bidders, plus Rodriguez and J-lo’s bid.

Rodriguez and Lopez retained JP Morgan Chase & Co., to raise funds for their bid, and also have added others with deep pockets, Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola and Queens billionaire Mike Repole to their group.

The bid led by Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez has become the “clear-cut favorite” to buy the Mets, USA Today reported Sunday, citing the belief of “several MLB executives.”

NY Post reported: There were previously questions about whether the J-Rod group would have enough money to compete with the other bidders — hedge fund billionaire Steve Cohen and another group led by Devils and 76ers owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer. But J-Rod has added Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola and Vitamin Water co-founder Mike Repole to boost their funding.

The Post also noted: Rodriguez and Lopez would reportedly be investing $225 million to $300 million of their own money. Viola is worth about $5 billion and Repole $3 billion, opening the possibility that they could contribute more money than J-Rod — possibly making Rodriguez settle for CEO, but not the controlling Mets owner.

The Mets owners, Fred Wilpon, and son Jeff Wilpon are hoping to sell their franchise by the end of the year. According to Forbes, the Mets are the MLB’s sixth most-valuable franchise at $2.4 billion, trailing the Yankees ($5B),  Red Sox (3.3B), Cubs ($3.2B) Giants ($3.1B).

In 1980, Wilpon bought a one-percent stake in the Mets when Charles Shipman Payson sold the team, with publishing company Doubleday & Co. holding the remaining interest. In 1986, Doubleday president Nelson Doubleday, Jr. sold Doubleday & Co., the owner of his interest in the Mets, to Bertelsmann AG. Wilpon had a right of first refusal in the event of a sale and threatened to exercise it. In the resulting settlement, Doubleday and Wilpon agreed to purchase the Mets for $81 million becoming equal partners in the team,  Wilpon took full control in 2002, NY Observer reported.

NJ News reported: Due to the coronavirus pandemic crushing the U.S. economy and the Wilpons desire to sell before 2021, it is believed the sale price will be far below $2.4 billion. Mets ownership claim the franchise lost $50 million annually prior to COVID-19, which led to a 3 1/2-month MLB shutdown and a 60-game season that is scheduled to begin on July 23

Lawsuit Against Trump, Postal Chief Seeks Proper Funding

(AP) Several individuals including candidates for public office sued President Donald Trump and the U.S. Postal Service and its new postmaster general in New York on Monday to ensure adequate funding for postal operations.

The lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court as multiple lawsuits were threatened across the country as a response to comments the president recently made and actions taken by newly appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to change operations at post offices nationwide.

The lawsuit alleges that Trump and DeJoy are trying to ensure the postal service cannot reliably deliver election mail.

The lawsuit seeks a court order to force adequate funding of the postal service prior to November’s election.

Among plaintiffs in the lawsuit was Mondaire Jones, an attorney and the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 17th Congressional District, representing Rockland and Westchester counties.

Other plaintiffs included New York State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi, a Democrat in a district representing the Bronx and Westchester and two Democratic candidates for New York State Assembly: Chris Burdick, who seeks to represent parts of Westchester County and Stephanie Keegan, who seeks parts of Putnam and Westchester counties.

A message seeking comment was left with the Justice Department.

The lawsuit was filed soon after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the House back into session over the crisis at the Postal Service.

Pelosi wants to take up legislation that would prohibit changes at the agency after DeJoy set off a nationwide outcry over delays, new prices and cutbacks just as millions of Americans will begin voting by mail to avoid polling places during the coronavirus outbreak.

Donald Trump Meets Minnesota Business Owners Affected by Riots

CHARLIE SPIERING(BREITBART)

President Donald Trump on Monday met with Minneapolis business owners affected by the destructive riots in the name of George Floyd.

The president criticized former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate Sen. Kamala Harris for asking for donations to help bail out the rioters who had been arrested for violence and looting.

“Their sympathies lie with lawbreakers and with criminals, my heart is with law-abiding, hard-working Americans like these people,” Trump said. “And my heart is also with the great men and women of law enforcement.”

The president tore into local Democrats for failing business owners by allowing riots and looting to continue in the city in the name of George Floyd.

“While the city’s liberal mayor refused to defend its citizens, which was incredible, their lives were destroyed while the leadership of the Democrats cheered, their dreams burned to the ground,” Trump said.

Minneapolis firefighter Korboi (KB) Balla and his wife told the story about how he spent his life’s savings to open a sports bar before it was destroyed by rioters.

Balla said he was working to rebuild the bar and was currently working to get financing to purchase a building for $1.3 million.

Trump suggested that it might be possible for Balla to get government assistance and asked for the name of the bar.

“The bikers over there, they’ll be there, like even if it’s burned down they will be there,” Trump said with a chuckle, referring to some of his “Bikers for Trump” supporters.

Balla laughed and said the name of the bar was Scores Sports Bar.

The president also welcomed Jim Stage, the owner of Lloyd’s Pharmacy, operating in the same building for more than 100 years before it was looted and burned to the ground during the riots.

Stage said he was working on rebuilding but was currently serving his customers in a satellite location.

“Thank you Mr. President for fighting for law and order in American cities and we ask that other politicians rise to the same challenge, of protecting our businesses and our neighborhoods,” he said.

Another owner of an auto repair shop said his business was completely looted and destroyed as well as vehicles owned by his customers and his tow truck.

“I’m here to build a new life and pursue the American dream,” he said. “I’m here today to say ‘no’ to this kind of action.”

He said he was confident about rebuilding his business and that he had cleared the rubble away.

“It might take time, but this is the only way myself and my two little ones live from,” he said. “I’m strong, I’m here to fight and to stand up again.”

John Wolf, the owner of Chicago Lake liquors in the city, also spoke about the riots that destroyed his business.

Wolf said he called 911 over ten times while watching looters damage his building without any response.

“The feeling of helplessness that I had knowing that no one was coming was indescribable,” he said.

Wolf said that during the three nights of looting, his business suffered six fires, three feet of standing water, and over a million dollars worth of stolen and damaged product.

“There’s nothing more important for elected officials than providing safety to residents and businesses, without that, nothing works,” he said.

He expressed frustration that no one was arrested for the looting, noting that local leaders in the city had failed them.

“While city leaders discuss reimagining the police department, Minneapolis still needs law enforcement,” he said.

He said that business owners should expect law enforcement to protect their businesses in exchange for the taxes paid to the city.

“I held up to my end. The city of Minneapolis didn’t,” he said.

Trump said that he had all of the local business owner’s names and would do whatever he could to help them rebuild.

“We’re going to see what we can do for you. We’ll help you out a little bit, and you may be surprised,” he said. “We’ll get you going.”

21 Point Shift Away from Biden with Non-White Vote after Kamala Pick

JOHN NOLTE– (Breitbart)

A CNN poll taken between August 12 and 15, three days immediately after Joe Biden chose Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate, shows not only a tightening of the overall race, but a 21 point shift away from Biden with non-white voters.

Overall, in CNN’s previous poll, which was taken more than two months ago in early June, President Donald Trump was down 14 points to Biden — 55 to 41 percent.

In this latest poll of 987 registered voters, there was a 10 point swing against Biden. The race is now within the margin of error of four points; Biden leads by just 50 to 46.

In the deeper numbers, though, we discover a whopping 21 point shift away from Biden with non-white voters.

In early June, with this group, Biden led Trump 74 to 21 percent.

In this latest poll, and again all of it taken between August 12 and 15, all of it taken after Biden’s much ballyhooed August 11 announcement he was going with Kamala, all of it taken after fake news outlets like CNN met the announcement with 24/7 gushing — the non-white vote moved away from Biden by a full 21 points, and now sits at 63 points for Biden and 31 points for Trump.

So what’s going on here? Is Harris proving to be a drain on Biden’s left flank, especially with black, Hispanic, and other racial minorities? (If I ever use the phrase “People of Color” feel free to light my house on fire with me in it).

There’s no question Biden is worried about the black vote. (if I ever capitalize “black,” you’ll find charcoal lighter in a shed next to the house.)

Come on, Biden is not sitting down with the repulsive Cardi B — as he ignores the media and the media allow it — because he believes he has the black vote all sewn up.

The average of the national polls show Biden winning by a pretty safe margin this November. Nevertheless, his and his campaign’s behavior reveal a candidate who still needs to pander to the base. At this point, Biden should be reaching out to the political middle. Instead the documented racist is eating up precious time securing his left flank.

Here’s an interesting question:

Why would Kamala be popular with black voters in 2020 as a vice presidential pick when she wasn’t popular with black voters while she was running for the top job last year?

Portland Rioters Drag Man from Car and Beat Him Senseless

(BREITBART)

A motorist was dragged from his car, forced to the ground, and beaten unconscious by Portland rioters on Sunday night, as lawlessness continues to reign with no law enforcement in sight.

UPDATE: Social media uncovered a video moments before the victim’s car crashed. ANTIFA and BLM  terrorists surrounded his van, and dragged out his female partner, and beat her in the street. The radical left on social media are spreading baseless lies that the man was a white supremacist who was trying to run over innocent protesters.  Also of note, AP ran a story and described the protesters once more as “peaceful”. Other videos emerged of various other attacks on the street.

The incident was reported and shared by Andy Ngo, editor at-large of the Post Millennial. The scenes are graphic.

Ngo then shared a tweet of the moments immediately preceding the assault, where the driver can be seen apparently trying to explain how and why his vehicle crashed. He is then made to sit while others search his vehicle. After trying to get up, the man is violently shoved to the ground.

Shouts of support for Black Lives Matter can be heard as other rioters began examining the man. A woman can be heard shouting multiple times to call 911 as the man lay bleeding on the street.  Police did not arrive on the scene until after the crash and the violence had already occurred. When the police began attempting to tow away the man’s vehicle, the crowd started accusing them of “protecting white supremacists.”

Portland is entering its 81st consecutive day of riots as demonstrators have moved beyond attacking federal courthouses and have now entered into residential areas. The condition of the man who was knocked unconscious is unknown.

By Jason Devaney(NEWSMAX)

The race between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden is tightening, with a new poll showing a 4-point difference between them and a virtual tie in 15 battleground states.

Results from the latest CNN poll:

  • 50% of registered voters support Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. 46% support Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. In June, 55% supported Biden and 41% backed Trump.
  • In 15 battleground states, Biden has 49% support and Trump has 48% support. That 1-point difference falls within the margin of error.
  • 56% of men support Trump and 40% back Biden. In June, those numbers were about even.
  • Independents are mostly split, with 46% supporting Biden and 45% backing Trump.

The battleground states included in the poll were Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Biden and Harris will be officially nominated as the Democratic Party’s nominees this week at the Democratic National Convention.

The poll was conducted among 1,108 registered voters from Aug. 12-15. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Israel’s corona czar: Arabs ‘attack’ Israel by flouting health rules

Corona czar Prof. Roni Gamzu (Flash 90)

By David Isaac, World Israel News

Israel’s corona czar Ronni Gamzu accused Arab-Israelis of almost committing an attack that would have led to many patients by ignoring health regulations, in a Sunday interview with Ynet.

“The Arab sector in the last two weeks, after the Eid al-Adha holiday, almost made an attack that would have resulted in hundreds of sick,” Ronni Gamzu said. The Arabs take part in “gatherings, riots, parties,” and show “complacency, apathy – thinking coronavirus won’t hurt them,” he said.

Gamzu said the epidemic hit Arab society “like a mass attack.”

Gamzu’s call was meant as a cry for help from the local Arab authorities to speak to their people.

Arab Joint List part leader Ayman Odeh, said, “It is a pity that while Arab doctors are at the forefront of the struggle against the coronavirus, the commissioner comes out with a statement that harms an entire society.”

“Instead of making such unfortunate statements, I invite him to work together to defeat the plague,” Odeh said.

Knesset Member Aida Touma-Suleiman, also of the Joint List, told Ynet, “No one has used such a term on all the people who are at the beach, or in cafes in Jaffa and Tel Aviv. No one has called them perpetrators. When you say attack, it means as if the people deliberately want to harm,” she said.

Gamzu apologized for his comments, saying he wanted to clarify that by “mass attack” he was referring to the virus hitting Arab society and not to Arab society itself. Gamzo said he apologized if his words were misunderstood.

Wuhan lab received COVID-19 from miners in 2012, scientists say

0

By Josh Plank, World Israel News

Scientists at the non-profit Bioscience Resource Project in Ithaca, New York, have discovered that SARS-CoV-2, the strain of coronavirus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic, may have first appeared in a handful of Chinese miners in 2012.

“Our theory of the origin of the pandemic is basically the only coherent one that exists,” Dr. Jonathan Latham said in a Facebook post on August 10.

Dr. Latham and Dr. Allison Wilson, co-founders of the Bioscience Resource Project, published their findings on their website, Independent Science News, on July 15 in an article titled, “A Proposed Origin for SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

“No one has found any significant flaws in it since we published it on July 15th,” said Latham.

“Our proposal is that SARS-CoV-2 was accidentally released from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, who got it from Kunming Medical University,” he said.

“They in turn obtained it from tissues belonging to six miners who fell ill in 2012 with a mystery coronavirus infection that caused COVID-like symptoms.”

The researchers point out that the known viral genome sequence most closely related to SARS-CoV-2 is RaTG13, which was collected from the Mojiang mine in 2013 by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

In April 2012, six workers in that mine, which is located about 1,000 km from Wuhan, fell ill from a mystery illness while removing bat feces. Three of the six subsequently died.

Through the translation of a Master’s thesis written in Chinese, Latham and Wilson discovered that the miners’ symptoms very closely resembled those of COVID-19.

The Master’s thesis concluded that “the unknown virus lead to severe pneumonia could be: The SARS-like-CoV from the Chinese rufous horseshoe bat.”

Samples taken from the miners were later sent to the lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, from which the researchers propose that it escaped in 2019.

Two of the miners were ill for over four months, which may have provided the virus with a unique opportunity to evolve and adapt to a human host.

“It is a well-established principle that viruses that jump species undergo accelerated evolutionary change in their new host,” said Latham and Wilson.

However, Sars-CoV-2 has “remained functionally unchanged or virtually so” since the pandemic began.

“That is to say, its evolutionary leap to humans was completed before the 2019 pandemic began,” the researchers said.

Latham and Wilson are calling for “an independent and transparent investigation” of the Wuhan lab.

“The scientific establishment has labeled the lab escape theory a ‘rumor,’ an ‘unverified theory,’ and a ‘conspiracy’ when its proper name is a hypothesis,” they said.

“By taking this stance, the scientific establishment has given the unambiguous message that scientists who take the possibility of a lab origin seriously are jeopardizing their careers,” said Latham and Wilson.

UAE deal signals end to ‘land for peace,’ says Netanyahu

(AP) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that a deal to establish full diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates proves that Israel doesn’t need to retreat from land in order to achieve peace with Arab states.

Israel and the UAE announced Thursday they were establishing full diplomatic relations in a U.S.-brokered deal that required Israel to put on “temporary hold” Israel’s plan to extend sovereignty over Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Netanyahu said the delay was instituted at the request of the United States.

The UAE, like most of the Arab world, long rejected official diplomatic ties with Israel. Its accord could usher in agreements with other Arab states, undermining the Arab rejectionism that was a source of leverage for the Palestinians.

“According to the Palestinians, and to many others in the world who agreed with them, peace can’t be reached without conceding to the Palestinians’ demands, including uprooting settlements, dividing Jerusalem and withdrawal to 1967 lines,” Netanyahu said in a video statement. “No more. This concept of ‘peace through withdrawal and weakness’ has passed from the world.”

The Palestinians want all of Judea and Samaria, east Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip for a future state, and they have demanded Israel withdraw from those areas.

Israel gained control of Judea and Samaria and reunited Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War, which started when several Arab nations attacked Israel.

Israel withdrew all citizens living in Gaza in 2005 and removed all IDF troops at that time.

What has been a wall of Arab support for the Palestinians and their demands has begun to crack in recent years, in large part because of the shared enmity of Israel and other Arab states toward Iran and Iranian proxies in the region.

The Palestinians bristled at Netanyahu’s remarks.

“Peace should be established on the basis of the Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital. This is the Arab and international consensus and anything else has no value,” said Nabil Abu Rdeneh, a spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Rdeneh mae the remarks notwithstanding the fact that several other Arab nations are reportedly considering establishing official diplomatic relations with Israel.

Netanyahu also reiterated Sunday his position on the UAE deal: sovereignty is only being suspended and that is still on the table, so long as it was done in coordination with Washington.

UAE officials have claimed that the deal means sovereignty in Judea and Samaria has been shelved entirely.

After President Donald Trump released his Mideast plan earlier this year, Netanyahu said he would forge ahead with sovereignty over about 30 percent of Judea and Samaria in areas in which Jewish communities are located.

Netanyahu, who has seen his popularity plummet over his handling of the coronavirus crisis, has faced searing criticism from settler leaders and their representatives in parliament over the sovereignty backtrack, and he has tried to reassure them that he remains committed to the move.

Hollywood celebrities are joining in the left’s tasteless mockery of President Donald Trump’s younger brother, Robert, using his death to attack the president himself and crack jokes about the family, claiming that the “wrong Trump” died and that his death might actually be a “hoax.”

President Trump announced the death of Robert Trump on Saturday, calling his younger brother “his best friend.” “He will be greatly missed but we will meet again,” the president said in a statement. “His memory will live on in my heart forever.”

tars including Jeffrey Wright, Michael Rapaport, Billy Baldwin, and Adam Goldberg decided it was a good time to make snarky remarks and score political points on the president.

Dell Technologies pitchman and James Bond movie star Jeffrey Wright implied that President Trump doesn’t care about his late brother because the president was seen on a golf course recently.

Borat director Larry Charles also questioned whether the president actually cares about his brother.

Saving Private Ryan and Taken actor Adam Goldberg tweeted, “Wrong trump,” joking that he “waited ten minutes” before making the tasteless remark.

Actor Michael Rapaport joked that Robert Trump “died of Shame, apparently it’s rare but runs in the Trump family.” The Beautiful Girls star also made snide comments about reported discrepancies in Robert Trump’s age.

Community star Yvette Nicole Brown questioned whether Robert Trump’s death is a “hoax.”

Oz and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes actor Kirk Acevedo questioned whether President Trump cares about Americans since he was recently seen on a golf course.

Shadow Gate: Watch The Banned Documentary Exposing “Deep State” From Arrested Journalist Millie Weaver

0

Shadow Gate, a brand new documentary from independent journalist Millie Weaver was released Friday as the film maker was literally raided by a SWAT team and arrested

In the documentary:  Weaver has concluded  Republicаns аnd Democrаts are working together in order to bring down President Donald Trump. She has said, “Both pаrties аre equаlly guilty of covering up whаt should turn out to be аn even bigger scаndаl. Shаdow Gаte: the tаcticаl аnd operаtionаl role the shаdow government plаyed behind the scenes cаrrying out the coup аgаinst President Trump. We’re going to be looking behind the puppets аt who the reаl puppet mаster, string-pullers аre.” On her website, Weaver has mentioned, “The material presented in this documentary should concern people of all political affiliations given elected officials are not the shadow government. This is about real players whose names never come up but should. Corrupt carrier politicians are definitely part of the beltway swamp, even aspects of the deep state, but they are not the shadow government. Two whistleblowers, who worked extensively within the Shadow Government as contractors have come forward with revelations that may be the biggest whistleblowing event to date.”

As Peter Bary Chowka detailed earlier at AmericanThinker.com, Millie Weaver, widely known as Millennial Millie, a 29-year old conservative new media video and print journalist with a large following online, was arrested at her home in Ohio on Friday morning. Police officers apparently from a local SWAT team took Weaver to the Portage County Jail in Ravenna, Ohio where she is being held without bail until at least Monday for a “tentative status hearing.”

Information gathered from various bloggers, independent journalists and citizen reporters indicate her charges were unrelated to the production of the video, however the timing is obviously suspicious.

For the first 30 hours before You Tube started banning all copies of the documentary, over 700,000 views were raked in. It is extremely questionable why the video would be banned, there is no hate speech, there is no “misleading medical information”, there is no violence. The video presents people who claim various things about data collection and the behind the scenes of the government.

Israeli pop star invited by member of Dubai royal family to perform in UAE

By Batya Jerenberg, World Israel News

Omer Adam, one of Israel’s most popular singers, will likely be the first Israeli performer to appear in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following the announcement of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Abu Dhabi.

The 26-year-old performer, who fuses elements of Middle Eastern (Mizrachi) and Western pop in his music, received a personal invitation to visit the country from Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, a member of the Dubai royal family.

According to Omer publicist Ofer Menachem, contacts have also begun regarding a special performance he would put on in the Sunni Gulf state, perhaps even before a formal peace treaty is signed.

“There’s no doubt that this is unusual, but it has real significance and legitimacy specifically at this time,” Menachem told Maariv on Sunday.

Omer’s popularity in the UAE took off in June when, among others, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs distributed a short video in which he thanked the country’s leaders for helping the local Jewish community.

Speaking in Hebrew with Arab subtitles, Omer expressed appreciation of both the UAE president and the leader of Dubai by name, and ended, “Hopefully, with God’s help, we will meet soon in Dubai.”

n a return clip, Sheikh Khalifa had responded, “Dear Omer, Thank you very much for your best wishes. Wish you always the best, and hope to see in the UAE very soon.”

Khalifa, also known as HBK, is a wealthy businessman. He is the chairman of the Arab Investment and Development Authority, which finances infrastructure and energy projects in the Arab world and Africa. According to a Yahoo! Finance article last month on a purchase his holding company had made, “HBK believes that when doing business, you must overcome geographical, religious, and cultural barriers.”

Citizens of the tiny emirate began uploading clips of themselves listening to the Israeli star’s songs.

The Dubai Jewish community consists of some 2,000 members who can practice their religion openly, with two synagogues, kosher food and even a school which about 40 children attend.

Solly Wolf, the community’s president, was recently quoted in Ami Magazine praising the authorities for their assistance and inviting Jews to visit. “There is nothing to fear, everything is safe here,” he said.

Adam was born in the United States to Israeli parents who moved back to the country when he was an infant. His career began when he was 16 years old, and he has released six albums in the last decade.

His song “Two Crazy People” won Best Song of the Year in 2018. He is also famous for having turned down an opportunity to perform at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest because it would have meant working on the Sabbath, which as a traditional Jew he would not do.

Minneapolis Police: Vandals Damage 5th Precinct, Shoot Fireworks at Cops

AMY FURR(BREITBART)

Protesters vandalized the Minneapolis Police Department’s (MPD) 5th Precinct building Saturday night and allegedly shot fireworks at officers.

“According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at about 10:10 p.m., officers witnessed 50 to 60 people marching towards 3101 Nicollet Avenue South. Officers say it appeared peaceful at first, but the group became violent once arriving at the precinct,” WCCO reported.

The article continued:

Authorities reported protesters throwing large rocks, damaging a large window and throwing paint on the building and on cameras. It was reported that commercial-grade fireworks were shot at officers, but no officers were injured as a result of the incident. Officers from across the city were called in to assist. The protesters fled before officers could stage and arrive.

Police spokesman John Elder said Sunday that no arrests had been made, according to U.S. News.

“The 5th Precinct saw rioting in the wake of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis. Protesters burned down the 3rd Precinct building,” the article noted.

In addition, Minneapolis has seen more shooting victims so far in 2020 than the entirety of 2019, the Star Tribune reported on July 25:

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that there there were 269 shooting victims in the city for the whole of 2019. There have been 275 shooting victims thus far in 2020. Moreover, the Tribune reports that the total of 275 shooting victims also surpasses yearly totals from another seven out of the past ten years.

The news broke one day after the Minneapolis City Council “cut $1.5 million from the MPD’s $193 million budget.”

In a statement following Saturday’s incident, Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said he supported the city’s police officers during the pandemic and the rise in violent crime:

The vast majority of the men and women of the MPD who continue to come to work each day and night are doing so to keep all our communities safe and make a positive difference. I support them and their efforts working professionally during this pandemic, amidst an increase in violent crime and as we diligently press forward in creating a new MPD in partnership with our communities.

“To those individuals that make the choice to engage in unlawful and destructive behavior, hijacking peaceful protests, your actions will not be tolerated, and you will be prosecuted to the full extent lawfully,” he concluded.

The incident was still under investigation, according to WCCO.
