China is Wiping the Floor With Us in the Middle East

Just a little more than three years ago, the U.S. was the dominant power in the Middle East. Our troops had wiped out ISIS in Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel and its former Arab foes, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, were beginning to enjoy the mutual benefits of the Abraham Accords negotiated by then President Trump and Jared Kushner. We were the Western/Democratic kingmakers and in control of that region. Things looked rosy. And then Biden took over. Now the situation looks as bleak as E. Palestine, Ohio. Devastated. Another Biden Blunder

Last week, our octopus-like nemesis China, did what it best does, it thread  its way into that vital region and now our Asian foe has brokered somewhat of a peace deal between Riyadh and Tehran that has cast an ominous shadow over the area.  And that’s the threat of a Chinese dominated Middle East and a threat to our closest ally, Israel. Arabia and Iran are initiating restoring diplomat ties after cutting them in 2016. Although it’s only a start, merely the reopening of embassies, the symbolic import is hard to miss. China now has a foothold in the Middle East and if history has taught us anything, they will not let go. They’ve pushed us out.

From the start, the US initiated the downward spiral by foolishly denouncing the young Saudi leader, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as being a murderer. But when Biden realized his moves to cut our own petroleum production reduced us to dependency on others for energy, he attempted to court and beg  the prince for his black gold and got a raised middle finger in response. Now Salman has hedged his bets and is going with China as his nation’s big brother and his elbow rubbing with Iran is a blow to the region that includes his own nation and Israel. Iran has never kept its word on anything. They lie. It’s in their blood. And now with China gobbling up Iran’s oil, paying in Chinese Yuan currency rather than dollars, our own financial stability is in question. Look what two years of incompetency and stupidity can do. And we’re staring at it square in the eye.

But, on the other hand, consider that an awakened (if that’s possible) Biden might make moves to restore peace, tranquility and American dominance in the region. The Saudis are Sunni, Iran is Shia and they have over a thousand years of hostility behind them. They are now killing each other in Yemen and we can work to use this as a wedge to get back into the good graces of the Saudis. The tendency is to go with the strong horse and that’s the role we have to re-assume; the one that Trump brilliantly embellished us with.

The Saudis have been looking around the world and enviously see many nuclear-armed nations. Perhaps we could win them back with the promise of joint U.S./Israeli security and the assistance for a civilian nuclear program. Israel could chime in with a gift to its youth; its technological experience to educate and modernize Arabia’s schools and professional advancement programs. A  solid promise to  defend that nation from an aggressive and hostile Iran would soften their current distrust of us. And to top it all off, President Biden could cease and desist of begging Iran to renegotiate the now dead  Iranian Nuclear Deal to assuage the Crown Prince to turn toward us as his savior and best buddy.

Our message to the White House foreign affairs experts: Wake up and stop being “’Woke” in the Middle East. Take sides against Iran. Keep fertilizing and watering the growth of the Abraham Accords. Let Israel assume the role of leader in the region. The Arab nations recognize and envy the Jewish State’s reliability, trustworthiness and success in helping other nations in need. They saw its reaching out to Turkey and Syria when those countries needed assistance after their natural disasters. Letting China and Iran, two dictatorial powers take control of the region would destroy the region for all. Let the US send that message to the Saudis and all the other nations in the region that our word can be trusted. America must become dominant, one again, in that vital region.
