We, and other pro-American/ pro-Israel advocates are furious with the AT&T’s DirectTV network for dropping Newsmax from all of its platforms, thereby denying its subscribers access to its millions of viewers. In fact, AT&T’s open warfare on conservative voices seems to not end as this is the second such cancellation after its removal of One America Network, from its programming schedule, last year.
Obviously, a political move, since Newsmax was the 4th highest-rated cable channel reaching 25 million Americans. In addition, it has a considerably larger subscriber base than other networks that they have retained. Go figure! And it’s obvious that the Far Left media giants are already gearing up for manipulating the upcoming 2024 elections as they have in the past.
Censorship in all its forms is definitely reprehensible and silencing view and perspectives that the liberal mainstream media finds abhorrent if totally unacceptable.
Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax, called the cancellation of his network, “a blatant act of political discrimination and censorship,” against his company. He continued, “The most extreme liberal channels, even with tiny ratings, get fees from AT&T’s DirectTV, but Newsmax and OAN need to be deplatformed?” Perhaps there was a political motive for their political move? For instance, back in February, 2021, House members, Anna Eshoo, D-Calif, and then representative, Jerry Mcnerney, D-Calif, sent a letter to the giant network, demanding that cable and satellite TV providers explain their alleged role in the “spread of dangerous misinformation” by carrying conservative networks.” A blatant warning to hone to their fascist philosophy of shutting down all opposing voices. Back to Germany of 1932.
In reaction to this obvious move of political manipulation, in an unusual move of anger, 41 Republican congressmen, led by Texan representative, Wesley Hunt, sent a letter to the CEO’s of all of networks involved in this manipulation of news reporting, warning of hearings to determine the reason for this intentional squelching of conservative viewpoints.
As such a “Justice League” of Jewish leaders to voice their opposition to this move to accommodate the radical left was formed. “So many networks out there provide slanted coverage toward Israel and Newsmax has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish community in America,” the group said. “Newsmax has always provided fair and balanced coverage of the state of Israel.” Newsmax also employs a full-time Jerusalem correspondent in the form of Daniel Cohen, who tells it as it is relating to the news coming from the Middle East. And with the loss of this move, he will also be silenced as well. “
At this point, more than 90% of our media coverage, on-line, print and on TV leans heavily to the Left. This leaves many without opposing views as the “woke, progressive” is left frenetically scrambles to obtain and broadcast news and viewpoints that support their stances. We hate to say it, but Fox News, over the years, has not been up to the job in carrying the message to those in the conservative camp.
The Justice League also added to their complaints by stating, “It is blatant and brazen political censorship. They did the same thing to One America last year.” We repeat….”We agree!” and call for the re-instatement of both Newsmax and One America news to the menu of AT&T and its DirectTV. And how do you and we do it? Cancel out your AT&T service and switch to another that carries Newsmax and/or AON. When cancelling, let the other end of the line know exactly why you’re making this move. America needs a fair and balanced media so that all of us can hear both sides of any situation and come to our own conclusions. Once a political party has control of what we read, hear and think, the ballgame is over and we are left with an insidious form of totalitarianism. Once that happens, we’ve become a fascist state. We must never let that take place. We’ve must speak out in a bold and courageous manner.
