From spring to fall, players in search of lush fairways, well-designed course layouts and breathtaking views have plenty to choose from when they come to the Garden State for a golf getaway.

New Jersey boasts more than 150 golf courses and facilities, from Scottish links-style courses along the coast to challenging wooded courses upstate—plus driving ranges and other golf experiences. Many of our courses also host renowned golf tournaments, such as the 2017 Presidents Cup at Liberty National Golf Club (Jersey City), and upcoming tournaments including the ShopRite LPGA Classic at Galloway’s Seaview Golf Club in June, and the prestigious PGA Championship will be contested at Springfield’s Baltusrol Golf Club in 2029.

The Garden State also boasts the nation’s premier collection of important golf artifacts and memorabilia, at the USGA Museum in Liberty Corner. Top travel tip: If you’re using a GPS system to drive to the museum, enter Far Hills as the town.

For the ultimate golf getaway, make sure to reserve accommodations at one of our incredible resorts, where you can stay and play for an all-in-one escape. The luxurious Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg offers six championship-caliber courses that boast designer names such as Robert von Hagge, Robert Trent Jones, Jack Kurlander, George Fazio and Roger Rulewich. Stay in the resort’s AAA Four-Diamond Grand Cascades Lodge for plush Adirondack-style accommodations nestled in the Kittatinny Mountains, and then spend the day at links-style Ballyowen Golf Club, routinely rated amongst New Jersey’s top public golf courses.

Meanwhile, families will feel at home at Crystal Springs’ Minerals Hotel (Vernon), a AAA Three-Diamond hotel offering an array of kid-friendly amenities, from craft activities to story time—and even special family golf rates on the 9-hole Minerals Golf Course.

For rounds close to the neon lights of Atlantic City, you’ll find Seaview, A Dolce Hotel in Galloway, just 25 minutes away. This plush property offers scenic views of Reeds Bay, as well as direct access to two golf courses: the wooded 18-hole Pines Course and the links-style 18-hole Bay Course, host of the 1942 PGA Championship. Marriott’s Fairway Villas also offers access to these golf courses, which surround the hotel property.

Another Atlantic City neighbor (just 30 minutes away), Renault in Egg Harbor City is more than a winery. It is a world-class resort with on-site accommodations, dining and golf. Its Vineyard National Golf Course offers 18 holes of championship play on well-maintained greens and fairways with challenging water and woods features and—of course—dramatic views of the vineyards. After a game, take a tour of Renault Winery, sample some award-winning wines, then retire to the Tuscany House Hotel.
