Joe Rogan Lashes Out at Woke “Activist” Employees at Big Tech Firms; Calls Them “Mentally Ill”

Edited by: TJVNews

It appears that podcast king Joe Rogan is mighty angry these days. According to a recent report in the New York Post, the controversial talk show host railed against the woke “activist” employees at the big tech firms from Silicon Valley, for presumably denying people of their individual rights of free expression.

During a Wednesday interview with Antonio Garcia Martinez, on his Spotify podcast, Rogan made the comments that resonated with his guest. Martinez was a former engineer at Facebook and Apple. He tendered his resignation with the iPhone maker after employees complained of “misogynistic” writings in his book, as was reported by the New York Post.

During the interviews Rogan queried Martínez about his experiences working for a large tech firm.

“For someone from the outside, we look at it and say: ‘How are those f–king places run?’” Rogan said, as was reported by the Post.

Rogan, a stand-up comedian told his guest and his audience of millions that he had a conversation with a “good friend” who was in a management position at Google before leaving the firm for another “large tech company,” as was reported by the Post.

“The way she described it to me was, ‘It is utter madness. The lunatics are running the asylum to a certain extent because there’s a lot of people working inside the company now that legitimately are mentally ill and they consider themselves activists,” Rogan said, according to the Post report.

According to the Post report, Rogan added that bosses at large tech companies “have to placate” the workers “because they’re a certain percentage of the population that works for the company, and they’re the loudest, and they oftentimes don’t get work done.”

Rogan claimed that in order to deflect from the charge that they are not getting their work accomplished when confronted about it, these big tech employees “talk about their activism.”

Again referencing his conversation with his friend, the Post reported that Rogan said his friend was forced to reprimand tech workers by telling them: “You are here for X amount of hours per day. This is your f—–g job. You’re not an activist.”

In response, Martinez said that there is a policy at big tech companies that encourages employees to “bring the real self to work” and places partial blame on the companies and their human resources departments that support employees speaking out.

The Post reported that Martinez offered a description of big tech firms like Facebook as “kind of like a cult” since employees are brought to a “campus lifestyle” where “they do your laundry for you” and “feed you.”

“Facebook was a cult, and I joined it, and I was a happy member of it. It was very powerful. Everyone sacrificed themselves for the sake of the empire and its emperor,” Martinez declared to Rogan, according to the Post report.

Rogan has posited himself as a champion and visible advocate of free speech and as a tireless opponent of the woke culture. He has routinely critiqued big tech companies for censoring and de-platforming those who utter viewpoints and perspectives that are considered outside of mainstream thinking.

In the recent past, Rogan has been accused of offering public platforms to those who are skeptical of the efficacy of Covid vaccines as well as lockdown restrictions that were imposed during the coronavirus pandemic. For his part, Rogan has denied being an “anti-vaxxer,” according to the Post report.

The Post also reported that podcast company Spotify had Rogan to a nine-figure licensing deal but was pressured to let him go after rock star Neil Young and other artists removed their songs from the streaming platform, over Rogan’s stance on vaccines. (Additional reporting by: Fern Sidman)
