New York City Mayor-elect Eric Adams may need to be wary of getting too close to public relations executive Ronn Torossian.

Over the last several months, Torossian has been helping Adams to plan events, most notably his Nov. 2 victory party in an exclusive club in Noho. While Torossian brings experience and a hard-charging, can-do personality, he also has a lot of skeletons in the closet that Adams would not want to get tangled up with.

Torossian is known for having built his prominent NYC-based company from scratch, using aggressive media tactics. As reported by the NY Post, however, he has also become infamous for an allegedly sketchy history. His company, named 5WPR, has been the longtime U.S. PR agency for Pornhub, an international site which has been sued for sexploiting underage girls and posting rape videos. In addition, the 47-year-old Brooklyn native also owns a PR site, Everything-PR.com, which he allegedly uses to endorse his business while taking down his foes, as per sources for The Post.

On Saturday, a Daily Beast report began questioning Adams about Torossian’s “toxic” character. After that, Adams canceled 10 upcoming fundraising events that were to be hosted by Torossian The cancelled events included a party Monday at Zero Bond—the NOHO club where his victory party was held.

This may mean Adams gets the picture and is already trying to step aside from Torossian, before things go any further. “No one cancels political fundraisers unless they have to,” said Ken Frydman, who runs the Source Communications public relations firm.

Another source for the Post, who did not wish to be identified, said that Adams should “move away from Torossian as quickly as possible”. “If you are an ex-cop, you should not be in a private club at night in a room with someone who represents a porn site,” the longtime Democratic consultant said. “Even de Blasio never did that.”

An Adams spokesman replied to The Post saying that the fundraisers were canceled because Adams has already raised $1.5 million and doesn’t need more than that to pay for his Jan. 1 inauguration events. A source in the Adams camp also commented that the mayor-elect didn’t know about Torossian’s work with Pornhub and that Torossian is not part of any policy decisions.

Torossian replied to The Post saying 5WPR still reps Pornhub but declined to further comment about it. Torossian also said he “has spoken to Adams since [the] Daily Beast” report, but would not comment further.
