Seems like its “Splitsville” for the latest reality television stars that were presented by Netflix. According to published reports,  Batsheva Haart and husband Ben (Binyomin) Weinstein of the hits series “My Unorthodox Life” have decided to separate after almost 10 years of marriage. Having tied the knot when they were both 19 as was the custom of the Orthodox Jewish community they hailed from in Monsey, New York, both have said that marrying too young is not the way to go, although they claim that they do not regret marrying each other.

They do not have children, and that stands in stark contradiction to the custom of the Orthodox Jewish world which encourages procreation. According to the first season of the Netflix hit, it appeared that Ben was the one who wanted to start a family but wife Batsheva was taking her mother’s advice and not having kids because as mother Julia said, “Your life will be over” if you do. The two also disagreed as to whether Batsheva should wear slacks and not observe the custom of the community for girls and women to wear skirts and dresses that come below the knee.

Moreover, also in the first season of the show, Batsheva’s sister Miriam also chimed in and told her older sister that Ben was holding her back in her quest to shed her frumkeit and become as narcissistic as possible and advise her to leave him. At that juncture, Batsheva stood by her man, but it was clear that she was in charge and he was the hen-pecked husband.

On Thursday, Batsheva Haart made her feelings known about her separation with Ben on Instagram. In a prepared statement, the social media influencer and fashionista said:  “After time and consideration we have made the decision to separate. We have so much love and respect for each other but have realized that it is time to take some space to ensure that each of us live the most joyous, fulfilling lives possible.”

She added in her statement, “There are no secrets nor salacious events to blame. We are just two best friends who met at a very young age and have grown over the past 9 years each in our own way. We so appreciate your continuous support as we embark upon this new chapter of our lives, separately.”

Us Magazine reported that Haart then signed the statement from both the men’s stylist, 28, and herself, alongside red heart emojis. Weinstein also shared the same message via his account.

“Batsheva and Ben are getting divorced,” a source told Us Weekly, noting that the influencer has been “living” at her mom Julia Haart’s house for “the last few weeks.”

“People change and shift, that’s what happened here,” the insider added. “They made a loving decision to separate.”
