The Democratic state party chairman Jay Jacobs, who also heads the Nassau County Democratic Party, has been uncompromisingly attacked by his party mates after he made an analogy using David Duke as an example, when asked by NY1 who he is supporting for mayor of Buffalo.

Socialist radical India Walton recently defeated four term Buffalo mayor Byron Brown in the Democratic primary, but Jacobs is sticking with the incumbent, who is running a write-in campaign.

“I have to endorse David Duke. I don’t think so,” Jacobs said during an interview with NY1 Spectrum News, referring to the KKK leader who was elected to office in Louisiana. HE was asked if he is supporting the socialist primary winner.

Jacobs was not using the best analogy; however, the response has been an exercise in intellectual dishonesty.

The rank and file in the NY Democrat party, instantly responded with false outrage and twisted his words, claiming he was comparing Walton to KKK member David Duke. Ironically, both Buffalo candidates are black. The accusations of racism began to soon flow like wine.

“Anyone with an IQ over 10 would clearly understand Jacobs was simply stating, that he does not have to back the nominated Democrat, using David Duke was not the best analogy, however the response is such feigned outrage, it’s laughable, he could have just said, I do not have to back a radical Socialist for Mayor of Buffalo, but the backlash is a joke and there is a hidden motive”

, a political insider told TJV.

“I believe they want Jacobs out as Party leader, and this attack is just the catalyst”, TJV’s insider stated.

The NY Post reported on the responses:

“The statement was totally unacceptable, and the analogy used was outrageous and beyond absurd,” said US Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Working Families Party director Sochie Nnaemeka, who backs Walton, called Jacobs’ comments “racist” and “appalling.”

“We are absolutely disgusted that Jay Jacobs would compare India Walton – a Black woman and leader in her community – to KKK Grand Wizard David Duke,” she said.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, who filed an exploratory committee to run for governor, tweeted that he considers the party chairman as part of the status quo but added, “I have to admit even I did not expect Jay Jacobs to compare India Walton to a neo-Nazi Grand Wizard of the KKK.”

State Attorney General Letitia James, also eying a run for governor, said on Twitter, “I fundamentally reject the likening of India Walton, an inspiring Black woman committed to public service, to David Duke, one of the most prolific racists of our time. There can be no place for such rhetoric in New York.”

Jacobs issued an apology, stating it was not his intention to compare Socialist India Walton to KKK member David Duke.
