Liberal billionaire George Soros is injecting some $500 million into global refugee aid programs, even as he funds a cadre of isolationist foreign policy advocates who pressured the Biden administration into pulling out of Afghanistan, a move that sparked a massive human rights crisis.

Soros’s Open Society Foundations, which directs the billionaire’s donations to scores of far-left political groups and other causes, is allocating some $500 million “in programs and companies benefiting migrants and refugees fleeing life-threatening situations,” according to CNBC.

Soros announced the initiative just days after the Taliban took over Afghanistan, a takeover that endangered the country’s most vulnerable populations and sparked a mass exodus of refugees from the Islamic militant group. Soros is a primary funder of D.C.-based political groups that advocated for Biden’s withdrawal from the country.

Along with libertarian Charles Koch, Soros provides funding for the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, an isolationist outfit founded to “bring an end to America’s age of endless wars and to reduce the nation’s military footprint around the world.”

Quincy Institute scholars hammered the issue in the media and during private meetings with politicians. The Quincy Institute has already taken credit for persuading the Biden administration to abandon the war-torn country even though the Taliban was poised to take over.

Soros money also fuels the Center for American Progress, a Democrat-aligned outfit. Several of the center’s top leaders were a part of the Biden administration’s transition team and ended up working in the administration.
