Rep. Ilhan Omar is firing back at President Donald Trump after he taunted her about her birthplace during a campaign rally in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.

Trump Tuesday said the Minnesota Democrat, a refugee from Somalia who has been an American citizen since 2000, is “telling us how to run our country” and asked “how is your country doing?” reports The Hill.

Omar responded Tuesday night through Twitter, posting a video of Trump’s comments and telling him that “Firstly, this is my country & I am a member of the House that impeached you. Secondly, I fled civil war when I was 8. An 8-year-old doesn’t run a country even though you run our country like one.”

Omar is the first Somali-American and one of the first Muslim women to serve in the House.

Trump has often attacked the Minnesota lawmaker throughout his presidency, saying her criticism of Israel points to her being anti-Semitic. Last year, he tweeted that “progressive” Democrat congresswomen should “go back” to their “crime-infested” countries.

While not listing them by name, the tweets were aimed at Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Omar. Ocasio-Cortez was born in New York, Tlaib in Detroit, and Pressley in Cincinnati.

Trump is making a push for Minnesota, where Democrat nominee Joe Biden is expected to win. The state has not voted for a Republican to win the presidential race since the election of Richard Nixon in 1972, according to NPR.

Omar is also expected to win reelection in her solid-blue district, which represents Minneapolis.
