Millions of viewers are watching the bizarre story of many talented people drawn into a self-help multi-level marketing cult, Nxivm, headed by an enigmatic but dangerous genius Keith Raniere, every week on HBO’s series called “The Vow”.

After all of this exposure, shocking revelations, and criminal charges against her; billionaire Clare Bronfman, an heiress to the Seagram liquor fortune, who poured her fortuned into the cult, remains loyal to Raniere.

The NY Times reported:  “Many people, including most of my own family, believe I should disavow Keith and Nxivm, and that I have not is hard for them to understand and accept,” Ms. Bronfman wrote in a letter last month to the judge. “However, for me, Nxivm and Keith greatly changed my life for the better.”

As Brofman awaits sentencing by a federal judge, Ms. Bronfman, 41, has not wavered in her loyalty to Nxivm’s leader, Keith Raniere.

The argument against Bronfman’s recommended prison sentence suggests that because she believed Raniere was a source for good and the Nxivm in her eyes was a force for the positive, she is essentially innocent, Lawyers also claim the billionaire had no idea of the racketeering, sex trafficking and other crimes

“The Vow” on HBO, was a documentary originally approved of by Raniere, to present his work in a positive light to the world;  ended up becoming a dramatic mini-series as various actresses, performers and others fall into the bizarre sex cult based around sleeping with Raniere and essentially giving up their careers and money to the cult.

Even after a possibility of 5 years in prison, Bronfman remaining loyal to the man responsibility for her downfall is amazing in itself. She quite possibly may be brainwashed by the work of Raniere, a man with an exceedingly high intellect, who used his gifts for his own perversion.

Bronfman pleaded guilty to two crimes in connection with her role at Nxivm, involving identity theft and immigration fraud, the NY Times reported.

A top recruiter for the organization was Allison Mack, an actress on the television series “Smallville,” who has since pleaded guilty to racketeering and conspiracy, NY Times reported.

Ms. Bronfman’s sentencing on Wednesday will also be the first major hearing inside the federal courthouse in Brooklyn since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the Times pointed out.
