Last Thursday Mayor de Blasio proudly arrived at Trump Tower, flanked by AL Sharpton, his wife and several African American teenagers, to make an announcement and take a photo-op painting in bright yellow paint “BLACK LIVES MATTER” Dozens of DOT workers lead the painting, as the mayor and Sharpton took the photo-ops with paint rollers in hand.

“That Black people built New York City, that they’ve never been compensated for all they did, that all the mistakes, the sins, everything in American history that has afflicted Black people have not been accounted for and must be accounted for – something he does not understand,” he said last month. “So it is right to take the eyes of the world, the attention of the world right there on Fifth Avenue and focus on Black Lives Matte, Mayor de Blasio declared.

The mayor’s decision to do this is antagonizing, conservative New Yorkers and the president himself who tweeted:

“He is going to paint a big, expensive, yellow Black Lives Matter sign on Fifth Avenue, denigrating this luxury Avenue,” and also he predicted that doing so would “further antagonize” the New York Police Department, which, he said “vividly” remembers the “horrible BLM chant, ‘Pigs in A Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon.”

Many are trying to make the point that one can support Black lives without supporting the BLM movement which is founded by Marxists, others are feeling BLM is exclusionary and are calling for “all lives” to matter.  The Trump Tower BLM mural  is receiving quite a reaction from people from all walks of life.

Even on the day the painting began there were several counter protestors, one who spoke to the Jewish voice.

Karen Lichtbraun , chapter chairwoman of Yad Yamin of NY said ” I came to observe the event, I saw the workers from the DOT painting and some others joining in, I asked them why don’t all lives matter too? I let them know that it’s insulting to only paint BLM, It’s important to point out the blatant antisemitism within the movement, I told them this is only going to  exacerbate tension, the  antisemitism in BLM movement is not being addressed by the media, it’s important to educate people, BLM is rooted in Anti-Americanism and antisemitism, I had to speak out”

The Post reported:  On Saturday — just two days after Mayor Bill de Blasio was jeered as he helped paint the large yellow mural — there were further ugly confrontations as dozens of “All Lives Matter” counter-protesters descended on Fifth Avenue.

As the group unveiled several flags, including “Thin Blue Line” ones showing support for law enforcement, an opposing protester raced over and swiped a flagpole — almost starting a brawl, video showed.

“You feel big and proud over that?” someone asked the flagpole stealer, who replied, “Yes.”

These little arguments and protests took place all weekend in front of Trump Tower.

On Monday it was reported: mural painted in front of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue last week was vandalized Monday morning.

Police are looking for one person who walked up to mural and dumped red paint over the letter V in “Lives,” which splattered across the mural as cars drove over it, according to ABC news

Mayor Bill de Blasio said later Monday evening that the mural had already been fixed.

“The #BlackLivesMatter movement is more than words, and it can’t be undone,” he said on Twitter.

Authorities closed a lane on Fifth Avenue to clean up the graffiti.
