It seems like former Vice President Joe Biden has some problems to contend with as he seeks to beat President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

According to a Fox News report,  Biden is being urged to withdraw from the hotly contested race for the White House by a Peter Dauo, a political activist and former Hillary Clinton supporter, due to new developments in the sexual assault allegation against him.

On Saturday morning, Dauo took to Twitter to saying “Biden should withdraw.” This apparently revolves around Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation against Biden. She was an apparent supporter of Biden’s primary rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who said she was a staff assistant for Biden in 1993 when he was in the Senate, according to the Fox News report.

“Credible rape accusations are disqualifying or we have NO moral standards,” Daou wrote, according to the Fox News report.

Dauo was a big-time backer of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in ger 2016 bid for the presidency. Recently, however, Dauo had backed Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders before he dropped out of the 2020 race.

Fox News has reported that Dauo has urged the Democratic party to reboot the presidential primary.

Sanders could “restart his campaign.” And other former candidates could “replace” Biden, Dauo said, naming Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, as was reported by Fox News.

Despite the fact that Trump won the presidency even though a number of women had accused him of sexual harassment and assault, Dauo feels that having Biden in the race with these allegations hanging over his head would be severely detrimental in the Democrats regaining the White House in 2020.

“We lose ALL moral authority if we embrace ‘the lesser of two accused rapists,'” Dauo tweeted.

Biden has strongly denied the sexual assault allegations.

In a statement to Fox News on March 27th, ,” Kate Bedingfield, deputy campaign manager and communications director for the Biden campaign said, “Women have a right to tell their story, and reporters have an obligation to rigorously vet those claims. We encourage them to do so, because these accusations are false.”

She added, ” “Vice President Biden has dedicated his public life to changing the culture and the laws around violence against women. He authored and fought for the passage and reauthorization of the landmark Violence Against Women Act. He firmly believes that women have a right to be heard – and heard respectfully. Such claims should also be diligently reviewed by an independent press.”

A former executive assistant to then-Senator Biden also challenged the account, calling it “clearly false,” according to the Fox News report.

A video emerged from 1993 in which Reade’s mother appears to allude to her accusation on CNN. She told Fox News on Friday that it was her mother who called into “Larry King Live” in the resurfaced clip and alluded to her daughter’s experience on Capitol Hill.

Fox News has reported that the incriminating video is likely to be cited as evidence to show that Reade made her claims known to members of her family at the time.  (Fox News)
