A procedural vote on Senate Republicans’ $1.8 trillion Phase 3 stimulus package failed on Monday for the second time in less than 24 hours.

On yesterdays failed vote Breitbart reported:

An angry Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) slammed Democrats for voting against the bill and blamed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for nixing bipartisan negotiations over a coronavirus package.

“I want everybody to fully understand if we aren’t able to act tomorrow, it will be because of our colleagues on the other side continuing to dicker when the country expects us to come together and address the problem,” the Senate leader said on Sunday.

McConnell added that there was bipartisan consensus among “regular members of the Senate, not in the Leadership office, not in the speaker’s office for goodness sakes.”

“She’s the Speaker of the House, not the Speaker of the Senate,” he added. “We were doing just fine until that intervention.”

Radical leftist . Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Sunday declared the bipartisan coronavirus economic relief package as “corrupt” and proclaimed that the GOP’s “greed & incompetence is going to get people killed” as Senate Democrats blocked aid to millions of American workers.  Ironically, it was the Democrats who refuse to vote for the bill.

They are arguing that the bailout is a “slush fund ” to corporations and that corporations can keep bailout money while still firing workers. Democrats want loan forgiveness only if the companies  that retain 90% of their workforce.

Today’s motion to proceed with the bill failed entirely along party lines, with the exception of Senator Doug Jones (D-Ala.), who voted with Republicans in favor of passing the package.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell: “I’d like to see Senate Democrats tell small business employees in their states who are literally being laid off every day that they’re filibustering relief that will keep people on the payroll because Democrats’ special interest friends want to squeeze employers while they’re vulnerable.”

Chuck Schumer: “The bottom line is very simple. We are fighting for a better bill, because this bill will have an effect for a very long time.”

Senate Minority Leader Pelosi: “The Senate Republicans’ bill, as presented, put corporations first, not workers and families. Today, House Democrats will unveil a bill that takes responsibility for the health, wages and well-being of America’s workers: the Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act.”

Democrats are prepared to continue blocking Senate Republicans’ bill until they get more concessions. Negotiations will continue until both parties, as well as the White House, can strike a deal that delivers the necessary 60 votes to move to a final vote, Axios reported.

Republican Sen. Tom Cotton said Monday that his Democratic colleagues are holding up the Senate’s coronavirus bill so they can push green energy policies, among a slew of other “radical” measures, according to DCNF.
