Letitia James is the new Attorney General of New York State. Her sworn job is to support and uphold the laws of the state and nation and protect the rights of all its citizens. But she is entering her office openly, brazenly and proudly informing us that she will use her powerful position to launch and focus a personal legal vendetta against President Trump and apparently against his financial associates, his family and any of the few within her jurisdiction who openly back him.
This is pure political harassment, issuing her plans before even having viewed and scrutinized any facts relating to crimes perpetrated by Trump or any of his cohorts. Justice is based on investigating crimes and connecting them to people who are either under scrutiny or indicted. Here we have a Progressive, Trump hating prosecutor who intends, in all likelihood, to misuse her public office to investigate people she hates, to search for a crime. This is not acceptable in this country, America. But it is, pure, vile, dirty politics.
She has claimed, during her election campaign to go after any Trump buddy whom the president may pardon for federal crimes allegedly committed within the jurisdiction of New York State. As a competent attorney (supposedly), she must be aware of the double jeopardy laws now in effect within NYS. We’re not bragging, but although none of us in the office have law degrees, we are aware of the simple facts of the law. Is she?
And if she’s so concerned about law and order within her communities, might she not focus to prevent hate crimes before they’re committed? We’d like to alert her to the words and promises of Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam which has local mosques frequented by thousands of his loyal followers.
In 2015, Louie’s speech in a Miami church reportedly launched into a racist sermon laced with Koranic verse, calling for 10,000 volunteers to kill white people if the black community doesn’t get justice. “So if the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us. stalk them and kill them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling.” Will she avert her eyes to the hatred against whites that appears to be on the rise even within her own political party? Shameful!!
We don’t know just how Ms. James feels about Mr. Farrakhan. Sadly, this new attorney general appears never to have condemned his hateful words of violence. So we call upon her, rather than focus on her extreme dislike of our president, to look out for the welfare and liberties of nearly 20 million people. That’s her job.
