The Israeli-based vintage lifestyle designer Michal Negrin opened her first New York City store on earlier this month in a petite store located in the heart of Soho.
In early April, the internationally renowned Israeli designer, Michal Negrin dedicated her latest store located at 151 Prince Street on the northwest corner of West Broadway in the trendy SoHo section of Manhattan.

In an interview with the Jewish Voice, store manager, Talya Revivo, said, “We are tremendously excited to bring Michal Negrin designs to the greatest fashion capital of the world, and that is what New York City represents.”

While many associate Michal Negrin with a lovely and expansive jewelry collection that can only be purchased at airport stores, Ms. Revivo says times have changed. Michal Negrin stores can now be found in most European cities and plans are in the works to open more stores in other parts of the globe.

In addition to her trademark line of jewelry that appeals to the infinitely varied tastes of women throughout the world, Michal Megrin has now introduced a fashion and accessory extravaganza that features high end fabrics that are designed exclusively by her.

“Our clothes are specially designed cuts that are made for real women with real body types and not just lanky fashion models,” said Ms. Revivo. She said that many women have requested dresses and outfits that are more of a dressy genre that would be a perfect frock to wear to elegant venues such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, charity and corporate galas, etc.

Ms. Revivo also said that for the more adventurous women, Michal Negrin offers a panoply of wild dresses for both casual fun and evening style and flair.

“Every woman wants to feel good in what she wears, “ says Ms. Revivo. To that end Michal Negrin’s dresses and line of day and evening wear are “extremely comfortable”, says Ms. Revivo.

“What really makes us stand out from the crowd is that all of our products are manufactured, designed and exported directly from Israel as is our entire selection, including home décor,” says Ms. Revivo.

In addition to the fashion and jewelry, the store also sells some uniquely designed items as mezuzot, cigarette cases, personal mirrors, hamsas and for the interior design aficionado, Ms. Negrin also designs exceptionally outstanding chandeliers and wall paper.

Oren Heiman representing the investors of Michal Negrin USA, shared details about the expansion plan in the New York City area. “The deal signed with Michal Negrin calls for 24 stores over a 12 year period. Opening the first store in Westfield Garden State Plaza mall was a great experience for us and we feel we better understand our customers and how they interact with Negrin’s unique style. We are continuing to rely solely on products made and designed in Israel and are insisting that also decorative elements and furniture are imported from Israel, despite the cost. The fact that 100% of the products in the store are handmade and difficult to purchase in the US, make the Heart of Soho location optimal”.

Mr. Heiman added that his affiliation with Michal Negrin began as he embarked on his final project in business school. “I knew that the success of any business would depend on the company’s ability to manufacture and export very different merchandise and I knew that Michal Negrin has the infrastructure to do just that,” he said.

In a previous interview with the Jewish Voice, Michael Negrin said, “SOHO is an exciting place filled with surprises, I love to get lost there and find things I have never seen before. It is a bustling and fascinating place filled with happenings triggering your interest in every moment. SOHO is a multi-cultural place where you can find the home of various kinds of arts and exciting exhibitions and where people can be who they really are, to surprise and bring out the artist in each one of them. In New York, like in our slogan, you can live the fantasy (to the fullest) each and every day”.
