In a biography titled “Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon Arnon Milchan,” authors Meir Doron and Joseph Gelman claim that American-Israeli producer Arnon Milchan took part in secret Mossad operations. While the book was released nearly two years ago it is only now receiving worldwide attention and Milchan is only now revealing the details of his alleged secret agent life in Hollywood. In a recent interview on Israeli television, Milchan revealed details of his efforts to boost Israel’s alleged nuclear program during the 1970s and 1980s while he was working in Hollywood.

Melchan, 68, is said to be one of Hollywood’s most successful producers. His body of work includes “Pretty Woman,” “Fight Club,” “LA Confidential” and “The Devil’s Advocate.” His fortune is estimated at $4 billion.

The book claims that Milchan supervised accounts and financed “the essential needs of Israel intelligence operations outside the country.” Those “essential needs” are alleged to have included purchasing components for Israel’s nuclear arsenal.

According to reports, Milchan gave an exclusive interview to Israel’s Channel 2. The interview was broadcast this past Monday night.

In the interview, Milchan spoke about his involvement in arms deals and his attempts at buying technologies that would allegedly aid Israel in the making of nuclear weapons, according to interview excerpts printed in the Daily Mail and in preview clips of the Channel 2 interview.

Milchan is now a partial owner of Israel’s Channel 10 television company. During his disclosures for the Channel 2 news interview, he also admitted to trying to use an unnamed big star to entice an American nuclear scientist to meet privately at the said actor’s home. The report failed to clarify if the meeting actually ever took place.

On the details of his double life, Milchan told Channel 2 that he did more than try to set up arms deals. In the interview, Milchan stated that he sought out other Hollywood notables in an attempt to get them involved in his work. According to Ha’aretz, who previewed the interview prior to its airing, the producer disclosed that he actively sought out the late director Sydney Pollack. At the time, Ha’aretz reports that “Pollack was allegedly involved in buying arms and military equipment for Israel during the 1970s and, according to Milchan, knew just what he was getting into.”

“Pollack knew, but I didn’t want to scare him because he’s American… He could have said ‘no,” Milchan said. “He said ‘no’ many times, but he also said ‘yes’ many times.”

Milchan also told his interviewer that as allegations his side work surfaced, some entertainment figures were hesitant to work with him.

“In Hollywood they don’t like working with an arms dealer, ideologically,” he said, “with someone who lives off selling machine-guns and killing. Instead of someone talking to me about a script, I had to spend half an hour explaining that I’m not an arms dealer.”
