UJA-FEDERATION OF NEW YORK LAUNCHES CONTEST TO GIVE AWAY FREE TRIPS TO ISRAEL WITH THE WILLIAM ROSENWALD MISSION CELEBRATING ISRAEL’S 65TH ANNIVERSARY

UJA-Federation of New York is conducting a contest to give away a trip for two to Israel with the organization’s William Rosenwald Mission.  One winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Israel, a value of approximately $8,000, and the opportunity to take a spiritually fulfilling journey and learn how UJA-Federation makes a profound difference in Israel. The contest is designed to create awareness about UJA-Federation’s mission to Israel celebrating Israel’s 65th anniversary.

Hosted exclusively on UJA-Federation of New York’s Facebook page, the contest entry runs from December 6, 2012 through December 16, 2012 and is open to residents of the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island and Westchester of all races and religions, ages 25 and older.  One winner will be selected by a panel of judges based on applicants’ 500-character answers to each essay question, “Why do you want to travel to Israel as part of UJA-Federation’s Rosenwald 65th Anniversary Mission?” and “Tell us about the last mitzvah (good deed) you performed?” The winner will be announced on February 1, 2013.  Candidates can enter the contest by visiting www.facebook.com/ujafedny. Contest rules apply.

UJA-Federation of New York plans trips to destinations around the world as a way for participants to experience the hospitality of people who share UJA’s values and traditions, as well as see firsthand the work that donations make possible. The William Rosenwald Mission celebrating Israel’s 65th anniversary is from Saturday, April 13, 2013 to Friday, April 19, 2013, departing after the Sabbath and returning before the Sabbath. The mission’s itinerary includes educational and spiritual components, such as celebrating the founding of the State of Israel on Yom HaAtzma’ut (Independence Day) with Ethiopian Jews starting their new lives, and meeting with top government officials, key political leaders and leading military analysts.  Travelers can also experience Israel through activities that are more personal to them, by joining a specialized track through the mission, such as business and hi-tech, or politics and the peace process.
