Students came from Staten Island, Long Island, Queens, and different parts of Brooklyn. Several students who attended the BJX Shabbaton, several weeks ago, were inspired to recruit their friends to join the BJX program. The program was joined by Mr. Eli Goldbaum, a community askan and president of SeniorCare company. An important component of the BJX program is for students to have the opportunity to meet with and be mentored by community members. Mr. Goldbaum devoted considerable time bonding with students and providing them with counsel and advice on a wide-range of matters. The students spent quality time with Yossi and Effi Kleinman and felt very much at home, enjoying their hospitality, warmth, guidance and friendship. Mrs. Brochi Kleinman (wife of renowned community philanthropist Elly Kleinman) also joined the program.
After the dinner and mentoring, Mr. Kleinman formally welcomed and introduced renowned lecturer and Rav of the Brooklyn Jewish Experience, Rabbi Yitzchok Fingerer to speak. Rabbi Fingerer delivered an amazingly insightful and humorous shiur on the subject of dating and relationships. He provided guidelines and advice on successful dating and introduced a fascinating Torah perspective for having a sustained and happy relationship. This was followed by an engaging question and answer session. Rabbi Fingerer spent the rest of the evening speaking with each student. He works tirelessly and is available day and night to answer the students’ she’elot and provide them with the support and encouragement they need.
