This rollercoaster season continued for NFC East champions the NY Giants as they went into freezing Lambo Field and defeated the Green Bay packers 37-20. With the win, Big Blue heads to San Francisco to face the 49ers and will try to earn their first trip to the big game since beating the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

The Giants knew they had their work cut out for them prior to facing the best team in the NFL this season and the defending Super Bowl champions. But they were also confident that they can go blow for blow with them on their home field since they almost beat the cheese in a thriller back in week 14. The well-rested Packers were coming off a first round playoff bye while the Giants were coming off a blowout win over the Falcons.

The Giants got on the board first with a field goal, only to see the packers come back and do the same. But late in the first quarter, Eli Manning hit Hakeem Nicks for a 66-yard touchdown to give the Giants a 10-3 lead. The Packers tied the game on a touchdown to start the first, but the Giants took a 20-10 lead into halftime, after Hakim Nicks caught a (forgive the expression) Hail Mary touchdown from Eli Manning. The Giants forced two fumbles in the second half which led to two touchdowns and sealed the win for the Giants and punched their ticket to San Francisco.

Eli Manning whose having his best  season for the G-men, threw for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns, while running backs Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for a combined 85 yards. the Giants defense came up huge once again as they forced 3 Packer fumbles who had only fumbled a total of six times all season and held QB Aaron Rodgers to only 264 yards in the air while sacking him 4 times. The Giants put  their stamp on the playoffs this season by clinching a post season spot on the last game of the season, crushing the Falcons in round one, and then by beating the 15-1 defending champions on their own field.
