The studio that brought the world Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and other heartwarming animated characters that have delighted children for almost a century has hired actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler to give voice to this new character, Sigler, 38, is known to audiences for her role as Meadow Soprano, the New Jersey Mafia princess on the HBO drama “The Sopranos”

The character that Sigler played on the series, which ran from 1999 to 2007, was the daughter of Carmela and Tony Soprano.

Thus far, Disney has not released the name of the new princess but did say in a tweet that the enigmatic character will be a “visiting princess from a Latino Jewish kingdom.”

Prepping for its third season, “Elena of Avalor” focuses on a teenage royal princess and her adventures in monarchy, according to a NY Post report. “I am so excited to voice Disney’s first Jewish princess,” Sigler tweeted.

Twitter users were already speculating if the character will be of Ashkenazi or Sephardic background, since Sigler is both. Others were excited at the prospect of a proper Disney Hanukkah special, according to the Post report.

“Growing up, ‘Rugrats’ was my only Jewish holiday special,” wrote one fan, referring to the
Nickelodeon cartoon series whose Pickles family observed Jewish traditions.

“I am so happy my daughter will get more representation.” “It’s about time there were more Hanukkah specials on,” wrote another Twitter user.

Other upcoming “Elena of Avalor” guest stars include John Leguizamo, ex-WWE champ Roman Reigns and Rachel Brosnahan of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
