Exploring the Alliance Between the Islamist Faith and Western Progressive Politics

Both the United States and Canada descend from Great Britain, now spiralling downward to an utter collapse–that will have more to do with the anti-Semite and probable next prime minister, Jeremy Corbyn, than with Brexit.

There are still a few British writers with the moral intelligence to chronicle the sad spectacle of the Leftist/Islamist Alliance. Melanie Phillips, Daniel Johnson, Dave Rich and Nick Cohen are among the courageous few.

For example, the aforesaid Mr. Cohen, writing in the Spectator in October, 2018 says:

“The alliance between the white far left and the Islamist right is a dirty secret in plain sight. Few can bear to look at it. None of the books and documentaries on Corbyn’s takeover of the Labour party asked, even in passing, how people who professed to be socialists and feminists, found themselves promoting theocrats and misogynists. I have no doubt that ‘serious’ scholars will be as negligent when they come to write their accounts. In supposedly stable Britain, there is a psychological aversion to admitting that the dark corners of modern history can be the best place to find the roots of current crises.”

Cohen reminds us that prior to 2002, the anti-capitalist Left allied itself with Palestinians led by Arafat’s Palestinian Liberation Organization, with its secularist-nationalist constitution. Cohen locates the change in the alliance from fellow secularists supposedly fighting capitalist imperialism to leftist acceptance of an anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-Christian, anti-Semitic movement for the supremacist world-wide caliphate under Sharia Law, to the year 2002.

The turning point according to Cohen was when Jeremy Corbyn attended a 2002 rally for Palestinians that featured the adherents of radical Islam, now known as Islamists who had the most illiberal and totalitarian attitudes to their own people with the rest of the world to be made into “dhimmis” once they submitted to Islam.

The old Socialist Workers’ Party thought the Left could direct and control the Islamists as troops against the establishment capitalists. But they did not understand, as in the famous song by Aretha Franklin, “who’s zooming who?” The Left turned a blind-eye to Islamist terrorism around the world including Europe and America. They seemed to be little interested in the Palestinian answer to Israel’s attempt to give the Palestinians a state in the Oslo Process, for which the Israelis received in return the Second Intifada murder of civilians.

Again, Cohen puts it well: “Radical Islamists killed Americans and hated Western democracy, just as the old revolutionary left had done. All socialists had to do was forget Islamists wanted to create a clerical-fascist dystopia, and they might be comrades. The far left willingly fell into amnesia.”

Naive multiculturalists, believing all cultures are equal, and that cultural diversity is the goal, even if that diversity legitimizes Islamist clerical fascism and hate, were additional tools of the Islamists whose holy books seemed to direct their conquest and their terrorism, by all means possible.

Writing in European View in November, 2010, political scientist Maurice Fraser regards Islamo-leftism as part of a, “striking and recent abdication of the Enlightenment project of human rights, freedom, secularism, science and progress, on the part of the political left.” Originally this Left was anti-globalization, but with the United Nations pact for global migration, the Left welcomes the destabilization of Western liberal democracies by illiberal migrants as they now use the pro-refugee left liberal desire to help the poor immigrants as a way to turn larger elements of the center into facilitators of Islamism on western shores.

Eileen Toplansky, writing in American Thinker on January 9, 2018 says: “It cannot be repeated enough that the Marxist-anarchist radical left Antifa and Islamic jihadists have joined forces to destroy Western civilization. Known as the Red-Green Axis, this unlikely alliance of leftists with Islamic groups is actually a means to an end by Islamists.

“Inexplicably, left-wing forces do not comprehend that they are merely one of the tools by which Islamists wish to impose a global caliphate.”

In my book, The Ideological Path to Submission… and what we can do about it, I discuss the important 2015 novel, Submission wherein author Michel Houellebecq has Robert Rediger, the fictional character who is a convert to Islam and university professor turned politician, presaging the submission of the European intellectuals to Islamism, describe Islamo-leftism as “a desperate attempt by moldering, putrefying, brain-dead Marxists to hoist themselves out of the dustbin of history by latching onto the coattails of Islam.”

We are now watching our liberal democracies turn into illiberal democracies as the so-called Democratic Party of the U.S. offers a future power base to the new liaison of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders for the Socialist Left with Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar for the Islamists. In my view, this “liaison” is an acronym for “Leftist Islamist Alliance to Subvert our Nation”. American Jews, beware.
