Down in paradise, the former head of CBS and now-disgraced Les Moonves was joined by a couple other companions out on the waters and in the sun on a yacht over the new year, according to the New York Post. The two other men have also been accused of sexual misconduct, and inappropriate sexual behavior and an abuse of power is why Moonves resigned from CBS.
Brett Ratner and Silicon Valley investor Shervin Pishevar were down in St. Barts with Moonves to check out the sights from atop a yacht in the popular island getaway where Harvey Weinstein even used to spend some time vacationing.
The New York Post got the scoop and reported last week about how Moonves and his wife wanted to get away to the islands with David Geffen so they could go on Geffen’s yacht. Moonves traveled in secret as to not draw unwanted media attention as he faces multiple accusations of sexual misconduct and of hiding evidence during an internal investigation, while he was headed to enjoy a $590 million, 454-foot yacht called Rising Sun.
Ratner, one of the people who joined Moonves, has also been accused of multiple cases of sexual misconduct. He denies the allegations.
St. Barts is the place to be during the holidays, during any time of year, really, but the holidays are special. Celebrities from all walks of life flock to the Caribbean island during this time of year.
Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews were there recently to celebrate the holidays in the endless paradise of St. Barts, where they enjoyed some time in the water at the beach. They recently had a son and were at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October. They’ve been at the Eden Rock Hotel, which is owned by James’s family, PopSugar reports. It’s an exclusive hotel to the island and one of the examples of the fabulous properties guests can stay at while enjoying some of the prettiest beaches on Earth.
Beyonce and Jay-Z along with Gwen Stefani have been at St. Barts this new years as well and loved it so much that they were in no rush to leave once the ball dropped back in Times Square.
MSN reports about an infamous 2015 event in which Leonardo DiCaprio had bikini-clad women surrounding him down at St. Barts, but the island is still considered to have great “accessibility” for everyone. It still can cost about $1,300 a night to stay in a villa, but it’s not a place only meant for celebrities, although it is a place that’s very popular with the rich and famous.
The island faced its share of challenges in 2018, which included bouncing back from significant damage done by Hurricane Irma.
There’s even a Chabad of St. Bart that can handle the needs of any Jew looking to enjoy some time away from work and soak up the sun while still being observant. Visitors of the island just may even see some notable Jewish figures. Over Christmas, Roman Abramovich, the Russian-Israeli billionaire who owns the English Premier League team Chelsea FC, was relaxing on his yacht with special guests Sir Paul McCartney and his wife.
