Ivanka Trump, best known as the daughter of the president but is also an entrepreneur, made her voice heard around the anniversary of the Unite the Right rallies in Charlottesville, Va., when a car plowed through a crowd of counter-protestors and killed one of them. She took to Twitter to denounce in some of the strongest words the concept of spreading hate and bigotry. She specifically spoke out against “white supremacy, racism and neo-nazism,” i24 News reports.

“One year ago in Charlottesville, we witnessed an ugly display of hatred, racism, bigotry & violence,” Ivanka Trump tweeted.

“While Americans are blessed to live in a nation that protects liberty, freedom of speech and diversity of opinion, there is no place for white supremacy, racism and neo-nazism in our great country,” she continued.

“Rather than tearing each other down with hatred, racism & violence, we can lift one another up, strengthen our communities and strive to help every American achieve his or her full potential!”

Ivanka converted to Judaism before she married Jared Kushner in 2009 and has strongly embraced her newfound religion along with her husband. They consider themselves as “Orthodox,” according to IBTimes, which added that the couple apparently keep Kosher as well.

The end of the week is very important for the couple because they are like virtually every other Orthodox Jew and spend Fridays and Saturdays resting during the Sabbath times. Kushner said they honor the rules pretty strictly, even saying they will “turn off our phones for 25 hours.”

Ivanka, who does work for the White House, finds that taking time away from work and everyday stresses like email and phones has a lot of benefits that help her for the coming week. “From Friday to Saturday we don’t do anything but hang out with one another,” she said to Vogue. “It’s an amazing thing when you’re so connected to really sign off. And for [daughter] Arabella to know that she has me, undivided, one day a week? We don’t do anything except play with each other, hang out with one another, go on walks together. Pure family.”

While Ivanka made the strongest comments last weekend, the president weighed in on the Charlottesville anniversary and ensuing march that happened last Sunday as well.

“The riots in Charlottesville a year ago resulted in senseless death and division,” he said.

“We must come together as a nation. I condemn all types of racism and acts of violence. Peace to ALL Americans!”
