Nili Lotan is bringing a showroom and office to the very upscale neighborhood of Tribeca. The Israeli-born designer who works out of New York will create the property down in a residential co-op’s base at 142 Duane St.

The retail co-op ownership had representation from Helen Chang and Michael Ashkenazy, who wanted rent to go at a rate of $250 per square foot, according to The New York Post.

Representing Lotan was Brandon Singer and Michael Cody of Cushman & Wakefield, according to The New York Post.

Cushman & Wakefield is a global commercial real estate services company. The company’s headquarters is located in Chicago, with regional headquarters in New York, London, Sydney, and Bengaluru.

Bloomberg reported earlier this year that “Cushman & Wakefield filed for an initial public offering in the U.S., saying it would use proceeds to reduce debt. The commercial real estate firm listed the amount of its offering in a regulatory filing [June 20] as $100 million, typically a placeholder amount that will change later. Cushman & Wakefied, whose owners include private equity firms TPG and PAG Asia Capital, said it will also use IPO proceeds for general corporate purposes and for making deferred payments to employees who worked for Cassidy Turley.”

Cushman & Wakefield is among the largest commercial real estate services firms with revenues of $6 billion, operating in more than 70 countries with 48,000 employees.

Lotan’s website describes her as a critically acclaimed and renowned ready-to-wear fashion designer. After graduating from the prestigious Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Tel Aviv, Israel, Lotan moved to New York in 1980 to pursue a career in fashion design. Since, Lotan has enjoyed a very successful career, having lead design teams at America’s leading fashion houses, including Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne, and Nautica.

In 2003, Lotan launched her own namesake label, designing a wardrobe of luxurious, chic, and timeless pieces for today’s woman. Lotan’s collections have been equally well received by the market and editors alike. Her pieces are regularly featured in top fashion and lifestyle publications like VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar, WSJ. Over the years, Lotan’s designs have accrued a glittering list of dedicated followers including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Christy Turlington, Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, and Karolina Kurkova, among many more.

Lotan was born in Netanya, Israel. Her father, Moshe Shapira, was a real estate developer there.

She served for two years in the Israeli Air Force before attending Shenkar Fashion Institute in Tel Aviv. Lotan notes publicly that her early life, growing up of European parents in Israel, and military service have been important influences on her approach to design. Lotan has three children and resides in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York.

She remains in a long-term relationship David Broza, a multi-platinum Israeli singer-songwriter and guitarist.
