Azrieli Group Ltd. CEO Arnon Toren has reportedly begun negotiations to open the first retail store for Apple in a shopping mall set to open in the new Sarona Azrieli tower, according to Israeli business news website Globes. There has been no deal signed yet, nor is it certain that one will be signed.

Currently, there are only two companies which import Apple products to Israel: iDigital, which currently has 14 branches throughout the country, and iStore, which recently became an official importer of Apple products, such as iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers.

In addition to iDigital and iStore, there are other official marketers of Apple products, such as the Israeli mobile phone providers.

Apple, one of the world’s best known digital consumer and electronics providers, already operates stores in major cities internationally, including New York, London, Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and Shanghai. Currently, there is an Apple development center in Herzliya, but has refrained from officially opening a store in Israel.

The Sarona Azrieli tower, where the potential future Apple store will be hosted, is currently the tallest tower in Israel, standing at 255 meters and 61 stories tall. There is also 10,000 square meters of available commercial space on three floors of the tower. The tower is located near the other Azrieli towers in Tel Aviv, and there are plans to build another Azrieli tower in the same vicinity. The new Sarona Azrieli tower completed construction in 2017, and companies that already lease space in the tower include Facebook, Amazon, Dropbox, and Citibank, among other leading international companies.
