An adviser to H.J.Ansari Zarif, the deputy for parliamentary and Iranian affairs within Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically threatened to expose every corrupt official who accepted bribes to make the Iran deal happen three years ago, while the chief of inspections at the UN nuclear watchdog agency resigned suddenly, the agency said on Friday without giving a reason, according to Reuters.

“If Europeans stop trading with Iran and don’t put pressure on US then we will reveal which western politicians and how much money they had received during nuclear negotiations to make #IranDeal happen” Middle East analyst for The Jerusalem Post,  Raman Ghavami tweeted the remarks allegedly made by Hassan Ghashghavi ,  the deputy foreign minister of Iran.

The adviser’s tweet appears to suggest that some Western officials partook in “pay-to-play” schemes by accepting money to support and ultimately sign the deal. It would seem, that the Obama brokered deal was so one-sided that Iranians had to bribe  officials to go along with it.

In related news on Friday , Tero Varjoranta, chief of inspections at the UN nuclear watchdog agency resigned suddenly on Friday without giving a reason.

The departure of Tero Varjoranta comes at a sensitive time, three days after the United States announced it was quitting the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

The IAEA, which is in charge of making sure Iran is complying with the 2015 deal, has released several reports which showed that Iran was continuing to abide by the deal’s key measures.

“Mr. Tero Varjoranta has resigned effective 11 May 2018,” an IAEA spokesman said, as quoted by Reuters. “The director general has appointed Mr. Massimo Aparo, acting director, Office for Verification in Iran, as acting deputy director general and head of the Department of Safeguards, effective immediately.”

On Thursday, officials in Washington said the White House wants inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites to continue despite Trump’s withdrawal from the deal.

With Iran threatening to expose US diplomats who allegedly took money from Iran themselves  to support the  ‘joint “Comprehensive Plan of Action” (J-CPOA) and a major resignation at the IAEA , it is looking more  certain by the minute Trump made a smart decision in withdrawing from the “Iran deal” .  Lots of questions remain.
