The Two Hospitals Sign Clinical Collaboration Agreement to Better Serve Patients in Brooklyn

New York Community Hospital and Maimonides Medical Center have signed an historic agreement which will serve as a foundation for the two institutions to work together to better serve patients in Brooklyn.

“This clinical collaboration agreement brings value to both of our institutions,” said Kenneth Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Medical Center. “And it will strengthen the latest trend—Brooklyn residents who seek top-level care are staying right here in Brooklyn.”

“Our physicians and our leadership are delighted to be partnering with Maimonides,” said Barry Stern, President and CEO of New York Community Hospital. “Our missions are aligned perfectly—we believe in delivering the highest quality care in a patient-centered setting.”

This new relationship between two iconic Brooklyn institutions will encourage further collaboration among clinicians as a broader array of medical and surgical specialty services become available at the New York Community Hospital campus.

“Both hospitals serve patients from a broad array of cultures,” Gibbs said. “And that shared experience has helped our discussions to evolve naturally, with our teams blending easily.”

“It’s been seamless,” agreed Stern. “There’s a real air of camaraderie as our staff members share ideas and work together to improve and grow our services.”

The clinical collaboration between Maimonides and New York Community will draw on the strengths of both institutions. Plans include the exploration of any and all opportunities for programmatic integration.
