Thumbs Up on Trump Trip to Middle East

President Trump’s tour of the Middle East has so far exceeded our expectations. The only disappointment is with his holding off on his promise of moving our embassy to Jerusalem. But, hey, you can’t win them all and there is still time during his first term to fulfill that commitment. Isn’t it strange though, that those who appear the most (hypocritically) outraged about this issue are the Jewish Leftists who are normally 100% anti-Israel.

This expedition to the Middle East has to be labeled as Trump’s D-Day on terror. He spoke to the Saudis, in Mecca, straight out. He did not mince words. He placed the major responsibility for the eradication of terror on the backs of Muslims themselves. He made it clear with these words: “It is a choice between two futures – and it is a choice America CANNOT make for you. A better future is only possible if YOUR nations drive out the terrorists and extremists. Drive. Them. Out!

DRIVE THEM OUT  of your places of worship.

DRIVE THEM OUT of your communities.

DRIVE THEM OUT of your holy land, and

DRIVE THEM OUT OF THIS EARTH!”

For eight long years President Obama ignored Islamic terror. For eight years President Obama apologized to the Muslim world, giving succor and support to their notions of being victimized by infidels and leading them to increase their hatred and violence against the Judeo-Christian “enemies.” The jig is now up. It’s over. President Trump has laid down a red marker. Join with us in fighting the terror your religion has created or suffer the consequences of that terror and our response.

Our leader’s second stop on his anti-terror tour was made in Israel. His support of the Jewish State was evident not only in his words but in his evidently close relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They bumped fists. It was ominously strange that his visit to Jerusalem coincided with the Islamic terror attack in Manchester, England. It appeared to reinforce the relationship that our country has with Israel. Trump talked about the nearly 70 years of  Islamic terror that Israel still has to deal with and he stated, “My administration will always stand with Israel!” “Jerusalem is a sacred city, with ties to this land, ancient and eternal.” He invoked Rabbi Meir Kahane’s immortal phrase, “Never Again!” He denounced the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, including Iran as enemies to defeat, together. And a quote which we consider a heartening threat to Iran, “Iran will not have a nuclear weapon!” Standing in Jerusalem our president had the strength of character to place the onus on and call for Arab nations themselves, to face reality and to live in peace with Israel. He basically asked Mahmoud Abbas, “Are you ready for peace?”

Much will be written and discussed about this momentous trip by President Trump to the Middle East. But let us here, at the Jewish Voice be one of the first to compliment our leader for his honesty, forthrightness and fearlessness in speaking out regarding the need to defeat Islamic terror right in the backyard of the funders and founders of Islamic terrorism. Did we pick the right person to lead our country for the next eight years? You bet!!!
