On Thursday, May 4, when confronted by reporters from The Post, Huma Abedin would not supply an explanation for why she sent classified emails to her then-husband Anthony Weiner.

As Hillary Clinton’s top aide exited a Times Square subway station, a reporter repeatedly questioned her. Abedin completely ignored the questions, and with a smirk on her face she stared straight ahead and kept it moving.

In reference to the testimony given by the FBI director on Wednesday, The Post reporter asked, “Do you have any comment on what James Comey said yesterday during the hearings?”

According to The Post, “Comey had told a Senate panel that Abedin broke the law but was not charged because she was clueless that what she was doing was illegal. Abedin’s smirk gave way to a clenched jaw when she was asked if she felt at least partially responsible for Clinton’s defeat since it was her misuse of the emails that prompted Comey to reopen the probe just days before the election. Clinton earlier this week blamed Comey’s decision, among other factors, for her stunning loss to Donald Trump.”

As Abedin walked away, The Post reporter asked, “Did you know that what you were doing was illegal? Mr. Comey said you weren’t aware of that.”

When asked why she would send classified emails to Weiner, who has had to resign from Congress after his involvement in multiple sexting scandals surfaced, she still refused to answer.

At about 10:15am, Abedin left her home in 1 Irving Place and caught an N train at the Union Square station, which she rode up to Times Square.

On Wednesday, Comey said that thousands of emails from Clinton were forwarded by Abedin to Weiner as a “matter of convenience.” Since her boss wanted to read the emails in paper form, she sent them to Weiner so that he could print them out for her.

Comey told the Senate Judiciary Committee, “Somehow, her emails were being forwarded to Anthony Weiner, including classified information. His then-spouse Huma Abedin appears to have had a regular practice of forwarding emails to him for him to print out for her so she could deliver them to the secretary of state.”

It was confirmed by Comey that Abedin was investigated by the FBI, and that the probe found no crime was committed.
