On Monday, July 18th Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest evangelical pro-Israel organization, commenced its 11th annual Washington Summit. The event, which ran through Tuesday, drew over 5,000 attendees.

This year’s Summit features briefings and remarks from a host of prominent experts and leaders including Col. Richard Kemp (British Army ret.), Lt. Col. Oliver North (USMC, ret.), Maj. Elliot Chodoff (IDF, res.), Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, venture capitalist Jon Medved, and Rev. Kenneth Meshoe, President of the African Christian Democratic Party of South Africa.

During the Summit’s gala event, attendees listened to important addresses from CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee, and Dr. David Jeremiah, Senior Pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered remarks live via satellite. Subsequently, attendees went up to Capitol Hill to lobby their elected officials in support of a strong US-Israel relationship.

“We find ourselves at a point in history when it is crucial we stand in solidarity with Israel. The Iran deal, terrorism and global anti-Semitism are creating an increasingly urgent need for Christians to say, ‘For Zion’s sake I will not be silent.’ Our annual Washington D.C. Summit reminds Israel, our Jewish brothers and sisters, as well as members of Congress that America supports a strong and secure Israel,” Hagee said.

All public events at the Summit were viewed on the Daystar television network.

The Summit capped off with the annual “Night to Honor Israel.” Serving as the keynote speaker for the evening was Israel’s ambassador the United Nations, Mr. Danny Danon. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
